"Jeremy really provided world-class service and I can’t recommend Kruljac Tree Services enough. I had called on the morning of April 29th about two large bushes and one tree stump removal and was set up for an estimate the following Monday. But nature intervened and I feared our small project would be pushed back far on their roster. He called and arrived on May 2nd to give an estimate since was already in the neighborhood and proposed two additional services which we had not even thought about and were happy to include. And for a very reasonable price. Despite the extent of their continued heavy schedule they were able to fit in this smaller project today, a wait of only two weeks and performed a very fast, tidy, and visually pleasing result. And they use incredibly quiet machines to achieve their results! Thank you so much from the DE GROAT family."

Customers say: Super punctual

"I was on a tight deadline to have the trees removed and the owner expedited the removal. His crew cut the trees down to about a 3 inch stump, chipped all the branches and cut the trunks into logs to be used as firewood. They did a great jog and cleaned up the site before they left."

"Ryan did an excellent job trimming my shrubs, discarding some trees, uprooting a magnolia tree that was threatening the foundation of my home and making my landscape look so much better! He also went above and beyond, showing professionalism, being very helpful and kind. I highly recommend him!"

Small jobs welcome

"Josh Rutter removed a huge tree stump and the roots from my yard in Oct.10,2020. He does an excellent job, with a remote, in maneuvering a big machine thru a small yard. Dealt with unforeseen and unexpected interruptions very well. Answered all questions, was punctual and friendly. Would recommend him to all. The only negative...his company does not remove the mulch and he tells you this upon contract. I, like most folks, did not comprehend that I would have 3+ tons of it. As a senior citizen female, I could not remove it myself and went thru much hardship trying to find someone who would. No one wants this stuff, despite what some people say, and no one will remove it for free. Mulch removal was almost as costly as Rutters work. He is A GREAT WORKER and REASONABLE IN PRICE, JUST BE PREPARED AND HAVE SOMEONE LINED UP TO DEAL WITH THE CLEAN UP--IF YOUR FAMILY WILL DO IT FOR FREE BE HAPPY. I had no free help to work with and the mulch was approx 22 inches deep covering an entire 8x12 lawn. Then, be ready to plant grass seed."

"Everything went very smoothly! They gave us a quote and removed the tree in a very timely manner! They communicated well and cleaned up after the project. It looks so much better with the tree gone. It was a tricky location, and they did amazing. We appreciate the hard work that went into taking our tree down! We would recommend and use again in the future!"

FAQs for tree stump removal projects in Penn Hills, PA

Always transport chainsaws with the engine off and chain brake engaged. Use the protective bar cover provided by the rental company to prevent accidental contact with the cutting chain. Position the chainsaw securely in your vehicle to prevent movement during transit, ideally in a truck bed or trunk rather than the passenger compartment.

For gas models, ensure the fuel cap is tight and position the saw to minimize potential leakage. Keep the chainsaw away from passengers and other items that could be damaged.

Proper safety equipment is essential when operating any chainsaw. At minimum, you should have eye protection (safety glasses or a face shield), hearing protection (earplugs or earmuffs), cut-resistant gloves, chainsaw chaps or pants, and sturdy boots with good traction.

Many rental facilities offer basic safety kits alongside chainsaw rentals. If you'll be using chainsaws regularly, investing in quality personal safety gear is advisable. Never operate a chainsaw without appropriate protective equipment, regardless of the job size.

While rental companies will rent chainsaws to beginners, inexperience significantly increases safety risks. If you've never used a chainsaw before, request a demonstration from the rental staff and thoroughly review the operator's manual before starting. Begin with smaller, more manageable cutting tasks to build comfort with the tool's operation.

For significant cutting jobs, consider either taking a chainsaw safety course first or hiring professionals instead. The learning curve for safe chainsaw operation is steep, and caution is paramount.

If mechanical problems develop during your rental, immediately cease operation and contact the rental company. Most reputable rental businesses will either provide a replacement chainsaw or repair the equipment if the breakdown resulted from normal use rather than misuse. Document the issue with photographs when possible and maintain records of when you reported the problem.

Having your rental agreement readily available when you call will expedite the resolution process. The rental company should adjust your rental period to account for any downtime.
