"They were recommended to me by a family member who's friend had a positive experience with them.  At first they seemed great as I was dealing directly with the owners.  They said this would be a perk and gave me the impression that I would be dealing directly with them for the whole engagement.  However, soon after we signed the contract and the work was scheduled we got shuffled off to the background with everyone else and had a difficult time getting accurate and timely replies to our questions. <br /> It seemed the work was poorly orchestrated as the gutter people didn't know what the roof people were doing and when.  I had to take days off from work to make appointments and to be there while the work was being performed.  Several times the work was rescheduled without even so much as a phone call to me.  Basically I was sitting there waiting for people to show up and they never did.  Had to call the main office to dig into what was going on several times.  I basically felt like I had to be the project manager for the whole engagement; something I didn't have the time for. <br /> Though the work seemed to be of good quality when it finally got done, we weren't warned that the force of impact from all the tools they were using would knock items off our walls.  Also, our garage was filled with wood and other debris from how they installed the roof over it.  It was a good thing we didn't have cars in there.  They said they would pick up all the nails around the house when they were done with special magnets.  For weeks I was finding roof nails on the perimeter of my property that were just sitting there in the open.  Had a magnet come anywhere near such a nail it would have picked it up. <br /> This was a very stressful time for my family and me and having to constantly follow up on what and when things would be done was a real chore.  Cleanup was not great and I had to personally cleanup quite a bit afterwards which was not what I had in mind nor what I was sold.  Their back office employees seemed incompetent. <br />"

"Well a pine tree blew threw the roof of our house. The cambridge guys were very nice and professional but i was suprised thatthey pieced a lot of the work out, not using thier own crews. They did an ok job but a l8t of the details were not their and i had to ask for them like trimming and such. They started and finished pretty quickly but it took some time for follow up care. <br />"

"Grant and his team did a great job.  Reece and Justin were the two who did the actual install/repair/re-installation of the flooring with Grant's oversight.  Grant was punctual with his timing on his estimate and the actual cost was what was agreed upon for the job. Reece and Justin did a terrific job with the actual installation and went above and beyond in many facets to make sure that the work was satisfactory based on our desires.  There were a few unexpected challenges during the job and rather than take the easy way out and just try to "make it work" they took the time to do it right the first time.  Justin and Reece's craftsmanship was top notch with regard to the installation of the laminate floor with good attention to detail so that the seams looked appropriate and the lines were straight.  Overall we are very pleased with the work and would recommend Good Hands to all of our friends and neighbors."

"We purchased a large home in Steamboat Springs, CO during the summer. As the snow started to fall we learned that the roof design on the north side of the house was causing severe ice dams. The sun would hit the north side of the house in the morning and start to melt the snow and ice on the roof. By noontime the sun no longer hit that part of the roof and the melting snow would refreeze into ice which was building up into ice dams. The freeze/melt cycle was creating ice dams which were literally growing every day along the roof valleys. When they cleared the snow away, we found that the ice dams had built up be over 3 feet thick in some spots where the rooflines met at different angles. <br /> A contractor that was working on our house noticed the ice dams and urged us to get the situation fixed before we damaged the roof. I contacted a couple of roofing companies and received quotes to get a heat tape system and copper gutters installed. The quotes were fairly close to each other. We selected Falcon Exterior Solutions because the company is local and I had noticed that they crews usually have at least a couple of roofing jobs going on around town. I also appreciated how the owner of the company, Luke Berlet took the time to patiently explain what they needed to do. <br /> First they cleared the ice dams to prevent them from causing any damage to the roof.  For most people this will probably be sufficent to fix the problem.  However, I knew that this was going to be an ongoing problem for us so we decided to install a Tyco heat tape system on the roof edges and the valleys in the problem areas to prevent further ice dams from forming again. They also installed a gutter system to handle the snow melt and rain fall. They found a few areas where the shingles had been damaged by the ice dams. The original homebuilder builder had left a couple of bundles of shingles in our garage which the guys from Falcon used to repair the damaged areas for us at no additional charge. <br /> The job was completed on time and on budget. Luke and his workers were courteous, neat and professional at all times. The job turned out better than I could have hoped for. The heat tape system works great and the copper gutters look beautiful. So far this winter we've had 203 inches of snow fall as of the first week in February 2013. No more ice dams. No more foot long icicles hanging off the roof and no more ice building up on the driveway from snow and ice melting off the roof. I enthusiastically recommend Luke and his staff at Falcon Exterior Solutions for any roofing, rooftop snow removal or ice dam repair and prevention. <br />"

FAQs for roof cleaning service projects in Phippsburg, CO

To find a reputable ice dam removal company, check verified customer reviews and ensure they have the proper credentials. Look at online testimonials and consult reputable agencies like the Better Business Bureau to validate their service record. Contact the company to ask about their experience, hourly rates, and safety practices. This helps ensure you're hiring a pro with proven expertise and a solid track record to protect your home from ice dam damage.

Ice dams can cause extensive damage that jeopardizes your entire roof structure. They can lead to issues like attic condensation, broken roof sheathing, persistent leaks, visible wall water stains, mold in your attic insulation, sagging drywall, rotting attic framing, and roof collapse. This damage compromises your home's integrity and requires immediate professional attention to ensure proper repair and safety.

Most insurance policies don’t include coverage for the removal of ice dams since it's considered preventive maintenance. However, damage caused by ice dams—such as roof collapse, extensive water damage, or structural failures—may be covered by your policy. It's a good idea to contact your insurance provider to understand your coverage.

Removing snow from your roof can help prevent ice dams. Use a proper roof rake from the ground or a safe ladder—never climb onto an icy roof. Also, consider addressing any inadequate attic insulation that may cause heat leakage. Promptly clearing snow minimizes risks and helps maintain a safe, durable roof.
