"Contractors Inc just finished refacing my kitchen cabinets and they look fantastic! In fact, they're nicer than I expected! The whole process was great from getting the estimate from Jon to the installation by Bayron. My kitchen is tricky because it's an historic DC building with quirky sizes and fixtures, and it slowed down the process, however no corners were cut and I didn't have to make any compromises. I've gotten used to settling for options I didn't really want thanks to this condo and its oddities, but like I said, it's even better than what I originally wanted. The cabinets are of excellent quality and Bayron's work is impeccable. I highly recommend them!"

"The job went wonderfully well.  Mark is one of the most honest people on this planet., and true to his word. <br /> His work matching patterns and minimizing seams is excellent. Fabrication and Installation were prompt, neat and professional. <br /> The company was available to help select the granite, store the granite until we were ready for installation, decide which portions of the granite we wanted to  focus, etc., whenever we asked. <br /> We highly recommend Mark Blankley and Granite, Granite, Granite. <br />"

"My kitchen cabinet door had a crack so they used the same frame and replaced the central part with glass, which made my kitchen look so much better. Service was impeccable and I would definitely use them again. <br />"

"The owner answered the phone, looked up the job, and offered to order and install a replacement drawer and cabinet door AT NO CHARGE. I was amazed, fully prepared to shell out some dollars to replace the two pieces. The replacement was just complete a few moments ago, just a few weeks after I called. The kitchen cabinets are restored to their uniform whiteness. The courteous installer even had a small paint tube in his truck, and touched up some rub marks. As noted, I was very pleased with quality, price and installation the first time around, and hugely pleased this business valued my business enough to offer a free replacement and installation."

"The service turned out great. I was happy to find I could reface the cabinets instead of having to replace them and saved a lot of money. The cabinets have held up very well. The technicians were efficient and completed the job in a timely manner. I had no problem scheduling the service."

"The furniture refinishing was excellent. Michael came to our house, looked over the dresser and made some recommendations. The dresser had water damage which resulted in the finish flaking off, and the wood expanded and cracked. Michael was able to refinish the dresser, correct the damage, and it looks as good as new. Michael is prompt, courteous, and professional. If the need were to arise, we would definitely use wolfs antique furniture restoration again."

"It looks better than it did when we bought it. They also helped realign the hinges when they realized they were a little messed up. They are very nice people who know their business. Would strongly recommend to anyone in need of furniture repair."

"<p>Very high quality work.  Fit and finish is excellent.  We felt comfortable giving them a key to our house and experienced no problems.  They installed a new powder room vanity and faucet, making all connections.  They repaired walls that were probably beyond the scope of the job.  They did an excellent job of some wood trim work on a step up to the tile, and also used a piece of scrap they stained to fix something in my kitchen cabinets without me even asking.</p> <p>They were recommended to me so I didn't do much price shopping, but it seems alike a lot for the labor ($8,400 - 10% for Angie's List members) but at least one person and often three were here for over a week.</p> <p>They also hauled the washer and dryer from upstairs to downstairs (moved as part of the project, but that is above and beyond) AND hauled an old set from the basement to the garage for my disposal.</p> <p>Even if the price was high, the value was high as well.  I would use them again and would recommend them to a friend.</p> <br />"

FAQs for cabinets refinish projects in Piney-point, MD

To find the best cabinet refinishing expert for your project, start by researching local pros and reading reviews from previous customers. Reach out to a few contractors to discuss your cabinets' size, condition, and the look you're aiming for. Don't hesitate to ask for references or examples of their past work. Speaking with previous clients can give you valuable insights into the pro's workmanship and reliability.

When speaking with potential cabinet refinishing pros, consider asking them several questions to gauge their experience and professionalism. These questions can help you gauge the pro's experience and determine if they align with your needs.

  • Do you offer a guarantee on your work?

  • Can you create custom finishes or colors?

  • Do you have examples or samples of your past projects?

  • Are you able to match the finish to other cabinets in my home?

  • How long will the project take from start to finish?

Regular care will help maintain the beauty of your cabinets for years to come. To keep your refinished cabinets looking their best, follow these steps:

  • Use gentle cleaners: Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the finish. A simple mixture of warm water and mild dish soap works well.

  • Clean carefully: Instead of spraying solutions directly onto the cabinets, apply them to a soft microfiber cloth and wipe gently.

  • Protect from heat and moisture: Try to minimize exposure to excessive heat or moisture, which can affect the finish over time.

It's usually less costly to refinish cabinets than to replace them, depending on the cabinet condition. Refinishing cabinets cost an average of $3,114 while replacing cabinets is about $5,000 or more. When deciding to refinish or replace cabinets, consider several factors, including how old your cabinets are, your budget, and whether you need to complete any other renovation projects at the same time.

It may be worth resurfacing (also known as refacing) your cabinets if they’re in good shape but you’re interested in a different look. This is often less expensive than replacing cabinets outright and can allow you to update the look of your cabinets to reflect your kitchen’s current style without having to get rid of them entirely. The cost to reface cabinets is around $4,300 to $10,000, and you can hire a local cabinet refacing pro to handle this work.

Refinishing cabinets takes about two to three days to complete. The process begins with removing cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware, followed by cleaning, stripping, and sanding the surfaces. Any chips, stains, or splits are repaired before applying paint or stain. After applying the finish, the cabinets are reassembled, and the workspace is cleaned up, leaving your cabinets refreshed and renewed.
