"My neighbor recommended Vertical Roofing after they restored her office space. I had them inspect my business roof and while damages were minimal, they wrote the contract did the repairs and had me on my way all in 1 day. I don't know what the norm is, but I was pretty impressed. So, 5 stars for this company for fast turn around and quality work."

"It went great. It only took about 3 days, but the crew led by Clay worked around our schedules to keep any interference to a minimum. Cleaned up completely when done and never new they were there. After several good rainfalls, it such a relief not to see the wet spots on our ceiling tiles. Best part is about 3-4 weeks later they sent our a roof engineer to inspect the work. He saw a couple of spots that need some work and sent the crew back out to complete the work. Great company and great service"

"The owner Robert and his wife, Maryanne are very nice to speak to and they know what they are doing. We picked them after interviewing various large companies and we were sold on the fact that the owners are closely monitoring and making sure that things are done well. They have been working with the same master roofer for decades and completed the work within budget and on schedule. They identified problems from previous roofing work and corrected all the things. If I need to have any roofing repairs in the future I'll be calling them."

"SMR provided a competitive bid and an extensive list of references. They were priced slightly under another roofing company and their prior customers that we talked to were all very pleased with their work. They accurately predicted the time it would take to do the job (3 weeks). Their work crews were highly skilled and easy to communicate with. They installed a beautiful roof and did an excellent job of cleaning around the house."

"Great work!! The repair and damaged area was professionally completed. The owners attended the initial visit and returned many times to ensure the customer was please with the results. The repair person and painter was always on time and courteous during his hard work. They worked very hard to make sure the texture matched the surrounding areas as well as painting."

"Soukup Roofing repaired the portion of our roof that was damaged in an April 2016 hailstorm. When a 2nd storm hit this year in May and our insurance sent an inspector out, the only part of our roof that WASN'T damaged was the part that Soukup had previously fixed. Therefore, we hired them to replace the whole thing, especially after their quote to do it was almost exactly what the insurance company allowed. The day before the crew came, I asked about shingle color, wanting something light, and they said they could put on a white roof. We were warned that it would be "as blinding white as a sheet of paper," but we were willing to do it for the slight help with our utility bills. Actually, it doesn't look blinding at all, and it's just fine. The job took half a day longer than expected because in removing the existing roof, the crew found remnants of the roof from before that one and had to remove it, too. They also installed the shingles to accommodate two slight bends in the roofline, which the previous roofers had not done. The crew foreman was polite and explained things to us, and the crew did everything with a minimum of mess, which they cleaned up thoroughly. The only trash we found after the job was over was 1 cigarette butt and a tiny strip of an old shingle. They even neatly stacked up the gutter covers which they had to remove against one side of the house so that the gutter repair folks can deal with those."

"I was fortunate enough to find the Stump Guy on a web search (unfortunately I did not look on Angie?s List).  I sent a request for an estimate and Andy responded within the hour with a very reasonable price and a willingness to do it on a Saturday or Sunday, which I needed.  Andy was professional and great to work with.  He did an outstanding job!  I would definitely use the Stump Guy again! <br />"

"Brandon was very professional and was 15 minutes early to the appointment. He was very quick and thorough. He did not try and sell me on any additional services and indicated that our roof was any good condition and would probably be ok for another year or two. I was very impressed with the services provided."

"Mr. Ton recommended ridge vents, roof vents and roof cement on the shingles around each stack or upright vent as they had loosened over time. He gave me a very fair estimate on a Friday. I called on Monday to  schedule the work. They were here on Tuesday for about an hour and added all the ventilation and roof cement in about an hour. He was willing to do a small job and did good work. I would recommend him for anyone with a small job or larger one looking for a competent roofer. <br />"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Pleasanton, TX

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
