"This spring we were in search of a company to pour a concrete patio as we were removing our old floating deck. We came across Clark Companies at the White Bear Home Show @ The Hippodrome. They followed up promptly afterwards and set a time to come out for a quote. They answered all our questions and helped us envision what it could look like. They were the only company we had out that actually cared (the others you probably hear advertised all the time). If you're here because you are researching them you can see they do this all the time and they do it well. They gave us many options to choose from for the patio & other items to complete the project (I.e stairs or grass seed). During the installation they were very professional and consulted with us along the way to make sure we were happy before all was said and done. Thank you Clark Companies! We look forward to enjoying our new space for years to come!"

"Fantastic is the only work I can come up with. Very responsive, everything went exactly as described. Josh's suggestions were on target - not an up-sell. Couldn't be happier. Lots of compliments. Beautiful work. We're super happy. And no question that it adds value to our home."

"Drew was great. Very friendly and very knowledgeable. After our first appointment, he gave me a very detailed, itemized estimate of the work he recommended to fully waterproof my basement (sidewalk and french drain on one side, regrading the other). In total it was more than I wanted to spend right now, so I opted for just the sidewalk. He was able to schedule the work fairly quickly. His crew was prompt, professional, and fast. They did the demo and had the framing up in less than a full day, and poured the concrete the following morning and were done by lunch. It looks fantastic and is keeping that side of my basement dry. I'm very happy with the results and highly recommend this company. <br />"

"The job started as a routine re-shingle job but it was discovered that the wood under the shingles was rotten and had to be replaced. Mike took pictures of the problem areas and emailed them to me at work and then called to talk through everything. Even though there was additional and more extensive work than expected, the crew finished the job on the same day and because of the added expenses he worked out a payment plan that was outside of the standard options which I really appreciated. I first learned about Over Under Construction from a friend referral and I was very happy with the communication, professionalism, responsiveness, and the quality of the job so I will now be giving high recommendations to anyone I know who are looking to have roofing jobs done in the Twin Cities. Thank you for a job well done! Kyle"

"My wife and I are extremely pleased with the end result of this project. It looks so good. The epoxy coating on the parameter foundation blocks and the concrete step to the house ads a perfect touch to the new clean look. I can now sweep the floor without dealing with concrete chips, dust, rough surface and cracks. We are also extremely pleased with the entire process of the project, including inspection and estimate, work scheduling, work completion and final inspection and satisfaction follow up. Terry, Ron, the lead workman and partner were all great to work with. I told the workmen the reason I chose Great Garage Floors was that they had done a neighbors garage floor 5 years ago and I really liked the job that was done and how well it was holding up. The lead workman told me he had done that job too. I could sense his pride that he takes in doing excellent work. The cost was competitive and obviously much less than doing a full concrete floor replacement."

"<p>Curb Creations was very professional, did exactly what was expected of them and took extra steps to ensure all work was laid inside my property boundaries. They added some nice design flourishes to several garden borders as well.</p> <p>The coloring was exactly what we were hoping for and the finished work complemented all of the other landscape renewal work </p> <p>we accomplished during 2014.</p> <p>We are very pleased and would hardily recommend Curb Creations to our neighbors or others.</p> <br />"

"It was super. Kevin and his team do great work; the attention to detail is key. And when they finished, the job site was spotless. New patios look great. Used EZ Masonry four times now for a variety of projects, and I would (will!) absolutely use them again."

"<p>He seemed knowledgeable and business like so I hired him. When his crew came to do the work, he introduced me to the workers who would be doing the actual installation including one of his sons. He made sure when the introductions were made; his son gave me a good firm handshake and looked me straight in the eye. As the mother of four children I was impressed with the way Jon was teaching business communication skills to his child. </p> <p> </p> <p>My property in Minnetonka is built on soil that has a large clay component. This factor has caused many problems for homeowners in my area because the instability of the land. Pietig and Sons carefully prepared the underlying surface. Within a year, two small sections were not weathering well and had cracked. Jon came to take a look, determined that what was happening was unacceptable and not up to his standards. He replaced them – at no cost to me. </p> <p> </p> <p>The person doing the replacement work did a masterful job of removing the damaged sections, properly preparing the area and then calling for a cement mixer truck delivery when he was ready to install the concrete. When the large truck arrived he carefully used a wheelbarrow to deliver the concrete to the area and carefully blended the sections together. All seemed perfect.</p> <p> </p> <p>Something strange happened within a few years. The sections that had been replaced were not holding up well. A concrete company, doing work for another homeowner in my area, came to take a look. He admired the work that had been done and complimented the skill of the craftsman who had done the job. Then he asked a question. He inquired about the concrete supplier and asked if I remembered the name on the truck that had delivered the product? He then proceeded to tell me a story that was the basis for his question and explained what he was sure was happening. </p> <p> </p> <p>He told me he had once been a foreman on a huge concrete product for a hotel parking lot. Several years after the installation of the lot, the concrete began to chip and flake. The hotel’s attorneys filed a lawsuit against his company to recover the money they had paid him. They claimed the work he had done was inferior. He had worked h****** that project, was proud of the work he had done and was personally devastated because his skill and honesty had been called into question. After a lengthy investigation, it was determined shale had been added to the concrete mix delivered for his project. This had caused the driveway to “pop” and disintegrate. Claims and damages filed against the supplier were eventually settled and his work was vindicated. Sure enough, it was the same large concrete supplier that had delivered the product to my home. Shale “pops” were also evident in those two apron sections that had been replaced.</p> <p> </p> <p>Even though those sections had already been replaced once, when Jon reviewed some photos I sent to him and heard the story about the other company’s experience, he said, “We will replace those sections again. It is the morally correct thing to do – I stand by my work.” He was also gracious enough to say that because the cement supply contractor was so large, it is not always possible to monitor every worker and batch of concrete mix. He realized that even in the finest companies, bad things could happen. What separates Jon’s thinking from others is his resolve to take responsibility and do right by his clients. If only his ethical standards could be taught to every business owner and to every business student! </p> <p> </p> <p>So, fellow homeowner, if you are considering having any concrete work done at your home or business, I’d like to recommend Harold Pietig and Sons. This is a company that isn’t satisfied until the customer is completely satisfied. From the admirable way Jon chooses to pass along life lessons to his sons to the ethical way in which he treats his customers, I cannot recommend this company highly enough. I feel so fortunate to have hired Harold Pietig and Sons to do work at my home. This is a company that stands by its work and takes moral responsibility for running a business with the greatest integrity. </p>"
