"The job took two days and all went very well. I needed my baseboards painted and some recaulking done. Patrick did a very good job with everything that was needed. The painting and caulking was clean and neat and blended well with my walls and floors. Patrick cleaned up and disposed of all trash, he was courteous and respectful of me and my home. "I have work with Susan on multiple projects for 10 years now and I couldn't be happier with her and her crew. This year I asked them to replace nearly all the windows on the house. Susan made great recommendation and picked out the windows, so I didn't have to do a lot of shopping around. They showed up on time and cleaned up after the work. The crew members are trust-worthy which is great for a busy professional like myself. I left the house to them in the morning and went on with my day. They locked it up at the end of the day, cleaned up construction related mess so when I got home it was as if nothing had happened, except for all the brand new windows on the wall!!! There were some minor issues with a few windows, but when I pointed them out, they fixed them right away. House repair and remodeling could be very stressful but they really made it easy, from the initial consultation to the work completion, I never have to worry about a thing, that's why I alway go with them."

"We had previously hired Paz Painting to remove popcorn from the ceilings in 2 rooms and hired his crew again to do the same in our dining and living rooms, an entryway and the upstairs stairwell ceiling. They also painted several rooms. They did a great job in both regards and did a nice job of cleaning up when done. Narciso is easy to work with and I would definitely hire his company again."

"Marvin was great. I have painted in the past and am a bit of a perfectionist and I must say the pros at MC Master did not disappoint. We had our entire homes interior painted and used several different colors. Marvin was very knowledgeable about the paint types we wanted to use and helped us save money by choosing the right paint for our job. He and his crew were very punctual and started early everyday and did not waste time . The project was estimated to take 3.5 days and they finished in 3 which really helped us because we could start our move in a day early. The MC Master crew was great they removed all fixtures and wall plates and taped and covered all floors, molding, appliances, cabinets and anything that they were not painting. They also cleaned up perfectly sweeping and even mopping all hard surfaces. No paint splatter anywhere and all of the transition lines where clean and sharp. I would recommend them for any painting job you may have."

"We did not hire Five Star Painting because we found communication with them to be VERY difficult. At first it was looking good when their estimator seemed to understand the job and promised a speedy estimate. However after receiving this estimate we found much of it to be written is some form of 'painter shorthand'. For example, it listed several categories such as: "Body Back Deck/Stairs" and "Body Siding" and under each heading what was intended to be a description of the work. BUT, these descriptions were not written in normal English and contained things like this (from the "Body Siding" category) "Paint: SW Deck Scape Stain Any S/SS/S ( 1 Coat) Labor: $ 110.75" Well, I guess that we've watched enough episodes of "The People's Court" to desire a contract that was much more clear than this and so we e-mailed them and asked if we could rephrase the critical elements of the contract into 'normal English'. In order to make this easy for them we drafted a proposed 'page' two of the estimate/contract that said things like "Side stairs & small deck: Paint stairs, riser faces, deck, pickets & hand rails with 2 coats of solid stain - same as used on front porch" and also included numbered photos to match the written description. This is when things went really bad with Five Star. At first they did not reply to our e-mail request. Then we called and talked with the son (it's a father/son owner & operated business) who agreed to change this portion of the contract as we had drafted. But after several days w/o any contact we e-mailed and called again . . . eventually talking on the phone with the father. He said that they have been doing business for many years and have never changed a contract proposal for anyone and that he wasn't about to do it for us. In our mind it would have been a very simple 'cut and paste' word processing modification to this contract that would take a couple of minutes. By the way, it's important to note that we were not requesting any actual changes to the work that was being done or any of the pricing . . . we only wanted the contract to be written in language that anyone could read and understand w/o interpretation. So there you have it. If you're Ok with a business that: 1) Does not reply to e-mail, phone calls or texts in a timely manner, 2) offers contracts that contain 'painters shorthand', 3) Is unwilling to adjust the language of this contract into standard language, and, 4) will give you mixed messages (such as the son telling us that he would modify the contract and the father saying 'no way') . . . then Five Star is for you. :-)"
