"Never pay them in full until the job is 100% complete. I made the mistake of paying them in full after their first visit to fix my leaky roof. They then no-showed with no warning 4 scheduled follow-up visits. I filed a successful dispute with my credit card company. Only after the charge was reversed did they finally return and finish the work over two more days. Lesson learned the hard way. Never again."

I am possibly planning on hiring them for more extensive work in my yard now and hope to find that they do great work here too. "My issue with Guardian is in regard to their Contract and billing philosophy. During my roof repair project, additional damage was uncovered. The Contract clearly stated that additional services would be completed on a time and materials basis. Guardian provided me with an estimate of $9,500 for the additional repair. After hearing that was only an estimate and that I'd be charged only for the time and materials spent, I authorized the additional work. The time spent on site working on the additional repairs was 19 hours. Upon completion of the work, I received an invoice that was opaque and presented little detail for approximately $9,500. An accompanying email indicated the additional repairs required 38 hours. This was ludicrous as the technicians spent a total of 37 hours on site for both the original contract work and the additional repair work. Guardian was in breach of their own Contract by not adhering to time and materials billing for the additional work. "

"They missed their first appointment to give an estimate. Chepi was scheduled to come and Shay Dee Barber showed up several hours early for the next appointment and began "doing work" when no one was home. No contract or permission was given to do any work. He tried to give an invoice which was 8 times tghe estimate from other roofers. His "work" had to be torn out and thrown away by another vendor I had to hire because Shay Dee Barber did such a poor job. Shay Dee Barber has no roofing skills. He angrily threatened "I'll put a lien on your house" which was laughable as he had no contract. L&I, who grants licenses said he only has a general contractors license and there is no skill needed. This is a "contractor" to stay away from!!"
