Pete responded promptly to my initial inquiry, came out ASAP to provide an estimate on the cracked step (and on a bigger "dream" project I've been thinking about), explained what had likely caused the damage, and gave me several options for either replacing the step just as it had been, or upgrading a little bit depending on my price range. His recommendations were good, and we didn't feel pressured at all, but the full reshaping of the step into a rounded one was a bit outside our budget so we took him up on enlarging it by several inches instead. Overall, Pete was friendly and professional, and had that air of experienced competence that you look for in someone doing work on your house. I didn't even bother getting a second estimate. I did, however, call a good friend who has worked in the brick industry for years, and he assured me that the price Pete quoted was right in line with what he would expect for my project if you want it done right. When I gave Pete the green light, he scheduled the work promptly, showed up in the morning on time a few days later, and knocked the whole project out by that same afternoon. Put simply, the step looks great. It was done promptly, in line with our budget and at the price Pete originally quoted, and our whole experience with him was easy and hassle-free. The new brick color is matched perfectly with the old brick (absent a decade of wear and tear obviously), as is the cement, and it is clearly quality construction. In sum, I would highly recommend PK Masonry to anyone, and I will definitely use him again if I can ever convince my wife to let me pull the trigger on that dream project I've been thinking about..."

They replaced my roof on a 5000 sq ft house, they did drywall work in my kitchen on the ceiling, and they also did several household repairs to help me sell my house. I have been dealing with Chris. "Excellent job, from start to finish! The details: Mike Connolly came out to spec my job with me. I was very impressed with the 15-page list of references that he handed me and his 5-year warranty on their work. All the details Mike and I discussed were listed on his proposal. The date was set and they called me a few days in advance to confirm. Since it rained on that day, they called me early to reschedule. The work was just completed on Nov. 8, and I cannot say enough about the quality, punctuality, communication and professionalism of their work and work ethic. My driveway is very steep and he and his workers worked really hard. I remembered that there was a spot at the top of my driveway where water pooled after a rain and I came out and told Mike, he said he had noticed the grade was off and had already fixed that (!!). I asked Mike to put in a curb along the side of my driveway so rain wouldn't flood my neighbor's porch and Mike asked me to show him where and how long I wanted the curb, and he did it perfectly. The repaving took all day to complete and they came back the next day to put in the curb. When his workers had first arrived, I went out to discuss with them the details of the proposal to make sure they knew what I wanted done, but they already knew exactly! Again, I was very impressed. During the day I asked various workers some questions and everyone was both knowledgeable and extremely courteous, hard-working and friendly. When all was finished, they cleaned up perfectly (- some asphalt had gotten on my side steps, and they got it all off, too!) I cannot say enough good things about Mike and the job he did! Excellent, excellent! Finally, my neighbor and I had both needed our driveways repaved and we got several bids at the same time. We were both very impressed with Mike and his references and warranty and so we both hired him. My neighbor (who is not an Angie’s List member) has told me he is extremely pleased, too."
