"A very excellent and affordable experience. I can't believe I waited 17 years to clean my windows. There is so much light coming in now since the screens were removed which was suggested by Terry. I plan to use this service annually."

"<p>We contacted with them for a three-year service, three years in a row. They put it up in November and take it down in January. The buy who comes out is a real creative guy. He shows a bunch of pictures. We did not know what we wanted to do with as far as lights to, but he came up with an interesting plan and it was good. You buy the lights and, basically, they are yours. They put them up for your every year. If I had to say anything about them I would say there were creative.       </p>"

"Three years after downsizing from a house to my condo I still needed help making my office / guest room functional for my daily needs and comfortable for guests. It was worth every penny I spent yesterday for Chloe and Maria to whip my office into shape. And they were considerate of me when some of the decisions I had to make related to whether to let go of some things that my late husband and I purchased for our first home together. By the time she left, Svetlana had my bathrooms sparkling again and did some other light cleaning for me. This was a great experience all the way around. So much that I'll have them back later this summer to help me go through some of the other things that I just haven't been able to do since David passed. Thanks, M2O - I appreciate you so much."

"One of my gutters was full of water and not draining at all. This gutter was the highest above the ground of all four on my home. The landscaping on the side of the driveway make it dangerous to get a ladder up in reach of the top of the down spout.  I felt I couldn't clear the downspout safely with the tools I owned. <br /> <br /> After deciding  to have a professional do this job, a search of AngiesList showed New Image Maintenance close to my location. My call to New Image was returned in about an hour. They were scheduled to do a large job in my area, so were able to come to my house the next day. New Image cleaned all four of my down spouts and gutter sections including removal of  all of the debris from the gutter cleaning. The entire job was finished within 24 hours of my call. The charge was $85.00 but with the 10% discount coupon on AngiesList my final bill was $76.50"

"A crew of 3 arrived on time and worked very well, clearing everything and bagging it for removal. When finished, they spread 3 bags of mulch that I had on-hand and we talked about future projects. I'm very satisfied with the job(s) they performed and will hire them again in the future, primarily for ongoing maintenance to the property, though other jobs may be possible, as well. <br />"

"I would highly recommend Experts Pro Service to anyone looking for a reliable and fair company. Paul is extremely diligent and you can tell he cares about his work. He has installed our outdoor Christmas lights outlining the house for the past few years. The one thing I love is that if a light goes out during the holiday season, he will come out and replace the bulbs with no problem. He is also very good about taking down the lights right after the holidays. Prices are more than fair and he is my "go-to" guy! He usually cleans my gutters in the fall as well, after all of the leaves have come down and does a fantastic job. Paul and Mark cleaned my windows inside and out this fall... I couldn't be happier. They look great and I was impressed at how careful they were not to make a mess while doing the work. Again, highly recommend Paul and his crew from Experts Pro Service!"

FAQs for holiday lighting add or remove projects in Richmond, IL

If climbing ladders or handling wiring isn’t in your comfort zone, hire a pro. Look for installers who post clear per-foot or hourly rates, carry insurance, and have solid reviews. Comparing at least three quotes helps you spot fair pricing without sacrificing safety. Skipping credentials to save a few dollars can cost you far more in repairs, so pick a qualified team and enjoy a safe, eye-catching display.

Yes, booking between February and September often scores lower rates because demand is light and pros have open calendars. You might even negotiate a discount package that includes removal or storage. If the budget is tight, ask whether a handyperson or an off-season permanent-light install makes sense for your home and timeline.

Determining the number of holiday lights for your house depends on your home’s size and specific decorative vision. Your project requires 10 to 20 light strands for a basic exterior display, with 100 lights allocated for eaves and an additional 10 to 20 bulbs for each awning.

For trees and substantial shrubs, allocate five to 10 strands per unit to achieve complete and balanced illumination across your property.

Tipping isn’t mandatory, but it’s a nice way to thank your installer for a job well done. Most homeowners offer 10% to 20% of the total bill or round up to an even figure if the crew exceeds expectations. A small extra goes a long way toward showing appreciation—and may help you snag priority booking next season.

Yes, you can install holiday lights yourself if your property layout is straightforward and your electrical system is secure. Homeowners who are confident in their ability to safely handle wiring and use proper equipment can save money with a DIY approach.

However, it is crucial to test all outlets thoroughly and secure the proper ladders and safety gear before starting. Careful planning and adherence to safety guidelines are essential to protect yourself and your home while achieving an attractive display.

Start by clearing the area of loose debris, damaged shingles, and anything that could trip you up. Test outdoor outlets and, if you’re unsure, bring in an electrician. Use a sturdy extension ladder (or scaffolding for very high spots) and never work alone—having a helper steady the ladder is non-negotiable. Taking these simple steps keeps you, your roof, and your new lights safe.
