"Overall everything went great.  Only one minor problem was with some of the vinyl gutters that I installed several years ago that were cracked or broken during the completion of this job.  They did replace some of the gutters that were broken, but they were not identical to the original gutters.  On the plus side the  job was completed very quickly (less than 1 and a half days). The AIC bid for the job was the cheapest of the four companies that I contacted, and their warranty along with the GAF warranty seemed to be better than the others.  They waited until the weather was suitable for replacing (roof was replaced in the end of February) a roof instead of trying to work just to finish and get paid for the job.  The work crew was courteous, performed professionally, protected my property (except for the gutters), and did a good job of cleaning up.  There was always a crew supervisor at the job site, and he checked with me several times to determine if I was satisfied with the way the work was being completed.  Of major importance to me is the fact that the roof was replaced over 4 months ago and that even though there have been several heavy rains and high winds; the roof looks great and there have been no problems with leaks.   <br> <br>"

"First of all i spoke with a lot of guys that are in this field of work. I feel like its a sales "Cat and mouse " game with them all for the exception of Across town foundation co. They are so laid back what a great feeling  ZERO pressure.  The price was amazing . The work started early and the guys stayed on it hard till the end of the day. The job took three days and my house is back to it proper placement. "I called John based on reviews in Angie's list. I live in Maryland, and I recently purchased a rental property in Kentucky, so it was a long-distance hire. I needed the canopy over the patio secured to the roof better, based on the recommendations of a structural engineer. John answered my call immediately, not days later, which unfortunately has been my experience. I sent him the structural engineer's report and he said he would like to look at the roof and canopy first. He went out there that evening - and called me back and sent me photos. He said he'd like to add a few more bolts than recommended and said the canopy would leak soon if it wasn't weatherproofed. He said he would recommend two coats of a weatherproofing substance. I agreed to the recommendations and the estimate. He went back in two days, made the repairs and did the weatherproofing. He sent me photos of the completed job. I appreciate his professionalism, timeliness and the fact that he sent me documentation of his work. I will certainly use Big John's Contracting again in the future."
