"Perfect as always. We have used Ellenwood for small and larger projects. We are always happy when they leave. They have run wiring for new outlets, fixed faulty plugs, installed new ceiling fans and bathroom vents/fans/heaters and are always professional. We live in an 1871 home and many electricians won't touch it. Ellenwood tackles the projects with professionalism and knowledge of historic homes. We could not be happier with their work. Honest and professional."

"Marcus did a great job, figured out my electrical problems, put up 2 ceiling fans, added an electrical outlet in my garage. Also cleaned up everything and moved back everything he touched. He was a very pleasant person and explained everything he was doing. Wouldn't hesitate to hire him and Photon electric again. Thank you Beverly"

"Cannizzo Electrical installed an EV charging station in my garage. Mike came out to provide a very detailed walk through of the work and provided a quote for the work to be done. On the day of the install, Vlad, went through the install again with me, made sure we were aligned on location and did a great job with the install. He also did a great job cleaning up, leaving no indication that he had been there other than a brand-new charging station."

"A&A Electric was a fantastic electrical company to work with in every sense. Anthony displayed complete understanding of the complicated work that needed to be done and was able to complete the work in a 1/3 of the time compared to everyone else in the area. Our space needed everything to operate a complicated industrial bakery and used 3 Phase, which did not trouble A&A in the least. Every step of the way Anthony was patient and was able to overcome any issues with practical solutions. The work was impeccable, clean, and the price was more than fair! We will use A&A without question for any and all our electrical needs for our businesses or home going forward!!"

"Try to find anybody who really cares? Mr. Ellis is about as pro as it gets. We have had a couple of electricians with good reputations in the house. They spent a bunch of their effort telling us why the original person who wired this newly built custom home was a moron for this, that and the next thing. Meanwhile, I smoked an outlet and just needed some upgraded stuff. Long story short. Ellis comes in with no BS and a fair price. In one hour, he had every corrected and put in two new switches. This kind of customer service in this economy is rare as hell. Hire Ellis or if you want me to vouch feel free to call me. I've been a company president, and led a multinational organization for three decade. I would hire this young man as an employee. He will be on to bigger and better, so if you need solid home electrical guidance and work, Ellis is your guy today."

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Rochester, NY

Because installing coax outlets involves working around existing electrical wiring and confirming proper grounding, many homeowners prefer to hire a licensed electrician. A professional completes the work safely, secures the line behind the wall, and ensures the installation meets local code, which reduces the risk of damage or future repairs.

You still need a coaxial outlet for most cable-based internet services. The modem draws its signal from a cable line that terminates at a dedicated wall jack. Once the modem is online, your Wi-Fi router can broadcast the signal throughout the home, so the outlet’s location doesn’t affect wireless performance. If an existing jack is damaged or in an inconvenient spot, an electrician can move it or install a new one to maintain a strong, reliable connection.

Coaxial cable loses signal strength the farther it runs. A 50-foot length introduces noticeable loss, and a 100-foot stretch can drop the signal by roughly 30%. A weaker signal can result in a fuzzy picture or slower internet speeds. To maintain high performance, limit cable length whenever possible, select the correct cable grade, and route it efficiently. If your layout demands an exceptionally long run, an electrician can install an inline amplifier to boost the signal and maintain picture or data quality.
