"No complaints.  The company treated the lawn as requested.  I guess we'll begin to see in the Spring if the treatments are working well.  The person who came out was very thorough and helpful. <br />"

"We hired Osborne Landscaping to take care of our lawn mowing for the <br /> first time this year. We've been nothing but pleased with the results. <br /> I was hesitant to pay on a per trip basis because I was worried about <br /> them coming out when the lawn didn't need mowing in order to charge <br /> extra. I have to say that this was NEVER an issue. By the end of the <br /> season, we were so impressed with the professionalism of the owner that <br /> we decided to go with the same company for snow plowing this season. <br /> The owner is friendly, professional, and trustworthy. A great <br /> combination in a contractor and I would not hesitate to recommend him to <br /> friends.. <br />"

"I volunteer at a local cat rescue. While at our adoption center, I happened to mention I was looking for a lawn mowing service. One of our fosters mentioned that the owner of C Green adopted a cat from us, so I decided to check them out. There were no reviews on Angie's List, so I decided to check out a few other companies. I requested quotes from 4 companies. C Green responded the next day (a Sunday and Mother's Day). A few days later, a second company replied and the other 2 still haven't responded. My lot is about .25 acres, full of trees, very uneven, and has a fully fenced backyard with a small gate only a push mower will got through. C Green quoted a price of $29 per week. The other company's quote was higher because a push mower was necessary. This was surprising because that company cuts several other land in my neighborhood and apparently offers a neighborhood discount. This is my second week of lawn mowing and I couldn't be happier. They are fast, trim around all muy obstacles, and remove the clippings. It used to take me almost 2 hours to mow and trim and my yard still looked less than perfect. C Green does a better job, in far less time, and for less than $30 a week. Totally worth it."

FAQs for lawn care aeration projects in Rochester, NY

Aeration is the best way to keep your lawn healthy and vibrant. Annual aeration makes your lawn more breathable and helps nutrients reach the roots, improving water absorption and reducing puddles where pests might breed. However, timing matters. It's best to avoid aerating during droughts, extreme heat, or if your lawn is battling weeds. A local pro can help you determine the ideal time for your yard.

Most lawns benefit from annual aeration to keep them healthy and thriving. If your lawn has a lot of thatch buildup—more than half an inch—you might need to aerate twice a year for a couple of years to get it under control. But if your soil isn't compacted and there's minimal thatch, you might be able to skip a year.

When you hire a professional lawn care company, a standard 10,000-square-foot lawn takes about 30 minutes to aerate. Uneven, sloped, or especially large lawns can take significantly more time. So, depending on your lawn's size and condition, the process can take anywhere from half an hour to several hours.

The best time to aerate your lawn is during the spring or fall when your grass is actively growing and the soil has enough moisture. Aerating once in the spring and once in the fall yields the best results. Avoid aerating when your lawn is dormant or right after heavy rain when the soil is too wet—that can make aeration less effective.

Even if your lawn looks healthy, aeration can still be beneficial. If you have good growth, proper drainage, and little thatch, you might not need to aerate right away. Regular aeration helps water and nutrients reach the roots, keeping your lawn strong over time. Keep an eye on your lawn's condition to decide when it might need aeration.
