"They worked all day removing the thatch and then carefully raked and seeded the lawn.It has since grown and will look fine in the Spring. Hard workers and very professional. No cussing or yelling. Did the job right the first time. The owner came by after they were finished to check out their work. Very professional We will have them back in the Spring to apply weed killer and fertilizer."

"The crew (2) arrived in the morning and worked throughout the day. They used a Bobcat machine to remove the large overgrowth, rusty chain link fence and numerous fence posts. Two large dump truck loads were hauled away. Yards of topsoil was spread and the entire yard re-seeded. The transformation was amazing!"

"Bobby and his team are very easy to work with. They respond promptly to every request. It is very easy to schedule the work. They always arrive right on time and complete the work in an efficient manner. I have been especially pleased with the effort they put in each spring to adjust all of the sprinkler heads to ensure the correct coverage of all parts of the lawn."

"We were in a new house and had a lot of weeds at the beginning of the summer, but they were all gone within a few weeks of starting our lawn service. They did a great job and our lawn is truly greener than our neighbors' yards...we even had one neighbor ask who provided our lawn service because he noticed our lawn looked greener than his."

"High Price, Low Quality--We've had our lawn aerated by Broccolo Lawn & Tree Care each of the last two springs. The first time the results were consistent with those when we've had other firms do it and when I've done it myself, though the price was high. This spring the price was higher, but the results were sub-par. There were relatively few holes in the lawn and they weren't nearly as deep as in the past. Many were only as deep as my finger nail. In contrast to the past when you could readily tell that the lawn had been aerated, you really had to look carefully to see that the work had been done. I called to let them know, in part because I thought they'd like to know that the work their subcontractor had done wasn't satisfactory and to let them know that I wasn't thrilled with the job, especially for the price. Interestingly, at no time did anyone say "thank you for letting us know how the subcontractor is performing" or "we're sorry you weren't happy with the quality of the job." Instead, the implication was that I didn't know what I was talking about (though I've aerated the lawn myself as recently as last fall and have had others do it as well for years) or that, for some reason, I wasn't being honest. They did send an inspector out a week later (the same day the invoice arrived) who, unsurprisingly, stated that the work had been done correctly. They compounded a poor quality job with poor quality customer service and we won't be considering them for any larger jobs."

"The service turned out very good. The price was fair. This is our first year doing this and I have nothing to compare. The gentleman that comes here and does it is excellent. He's a very nice guy. This was the second time that they had been here. We had a contract with them. The first time they came here, we had them to do something extra and that cost was $105.51. The second time they came, the cost was $97.95; every time they come that is the price for the service. They will come six times to fertilize, one time for weed control and grub applications. For the whole year $688.66 for seven applications on what my husband agreed on with them."

FAQs for lawn and garden sprinkler system installation projects in Rochester, NY

While drip irrigation systems have higher upfront costs, they can save you money in the long run. By delivering water directly into the soil with minimal evaporation and runoff, drip irrigation systems conserve water and improve efficiency. This means better performance and results for your landscaping, and cost savings over the system's lifespan.

Yes, irrigation systems can add value to your home, especially when installed with high-quality materials and a solid design. A well-irrigated landscape enhances curb appeal and can attract potential buyers. However, poor design or installation may reduce performance and even decrease your property's value. Hiring an expert for installation and performing regular maintenance is key to securing the long-term benefits.

A local irrigation professional can help you check your drip irrigation system to make sure it's in good shape. You'll want to make sure the water pressure is in a good range, repair any leaks as soon as possible, and cover the cost to winterize your sprinkler system as recommended by your irrigation contractor.

A drip irrigation system lasts between 10 and 15 years. This lifespan is determined by the quality of materials, the precision of installation, and regular professional maintenance. Unlike traditional sprinkler systems that can last up to 50 years, the thinner piping used in drip systems is more sensitive to UV exposure and environmental wear. Proper upkeep and timely repairs enhance durability and ensure consistent irrigation performance.

Drip irrigation is best suited for plant beds, containers, greenhouses, and row crops. It supplies water directly to individual plants, ensuring precise moisture control where it is needed most. For areas with simple layouts, above-ground systems work efficiently, while subsurface installations may be cost-prohibitive in spaces with extensive tree roots or irregular terrain. Proper planning maximizes the benefits of drip irrigation across a variety of applications.
