"Steve is a great guy and very professional. He completed work in a timely manor and went above and beyond on multiple occasions for me in getting my house ready for rental (until I can move into it in a couple years). Easy to work with and always curious."

"This was a very involved plaster repair and remediation job, in a very old house. Grady is the only person (or company) who was willing to take on the job and drive all the way from Pennsylvania to our home in Northern Virginia. There are very few people who do this kind of work anymore (we really searched) and he is an expert in his field. We needed to work around his schedule, because he is in demand in the tri-state area, so it took awhile to schedule the work to begin... but it was worth it."

"Punctual, polite, efficient with time, and careful, the installer worked for a number of hours and did a GREAT job!  Least convenient was the price.  However, having had other makes and models of wired fencing for our dogs, this is by far the best... so far.  We live in a more wooded area and wildlife can find and chew through even wires buried a few inches into the ground.  Finding breaks is difficult.  Having dogs run off is trying.  Dog collars are very high quality.  The installer took time to go over training, and stayed to walk all four dogs around the course to make sure they understood.  It was quite good... more than I expected.  If the price doesn't offend you, then this is a company to put your trust in -- excellent installation. <br />"

"Mark was great from the beginning all the way through to the end.  I found him on Angie's List when I was trying to figure out how to get metal rails installed on our porch for safety and aesthetic reasons.  He was punctual in all aspects, very easy to speak with, pleasant and invited us to go to his shop and see rails he'd made that he had in a show room.  He is quite talented and became a metal craftsman out of a passion for it, having done metal work on the side for several years and eventually his business went to well he stopped his full time job to do this instead.  I also found his pricing to be competitive with other rail solutions, and his rails were by far superior to wood or aluminum. <br /> Our rails are beautiful and my husband is over the moon with the pull up bar (my husband and I couldn't quite figure out a really good way to hang the bar but Mark came up with a real clever, very secure fix). <br /> I highly recommend Mark and will use him in the future if I need metal work - he also does more creative, artistic pieces."

FAQs for wood fence repair projects in Rocky Mount, VA

The time it takes to install a swimming pool fence varies depending on the project's complexity. A simple installation can be completed in about two hours. However, if your project involves concrete work, regrading, custom installations, or challenging terrain, it could take up to two full days. Each additional factor increases the labor and time needed to ensure your fence meets safety standards.

Yes, installing a lock on your pool gate enhances safety by preventing unauthorized access. A self-closing, self-latching gate with a key-lock mechanism provides strong protection, helping to keep children and pets safe. Securing your pool gate adds an extra layer of security and offers peace of mind when using the pool area.

A pool fence requires a specific height to secure the pool area. In most states, the fence must be 48 inches tall; some regulations require 60 inches for enhanced safety. Checking local building codes guarantees compliance with these height requirements. A taller fence strengthens protection and improves the overall security of your pool area, ensuring it meets stringent safety standards.

Mesh and tempered glass are among the safest pool fencing choices because their design and smooth surfaces make them resistant to climbing attempts. They provide consistent, rigid barriers that prevent unauthorized access to your pool area. These materials ensure optimal safety for children and pets. In addition, incorporating a pool safety net further enhances protection and addresses additional security concerns, ensuring that your pool remains a safe environment for all users.

Pool fencing requirements vary by local, state, and federal regulations. In most states, installing a pool fence is mandatory for safety and insurance purposes. Ask your pool fence pro for local regulations or check with your local planning department to understand the specific height and design requirements for your area. Complying with these regulations ensures legal compliance and enhances safety.
