"I thought this landscaping job was professionally done by Angel Landscaping. I can actually see my property in the front. The backyard was very big cleanup job since my husband can't maintain the backyard like he used. I will certainly use this company in the future for my landscaping. Prompt attention with no ego for budget negotiation. Thank you."

"Our lawn was looking a bit sad, as there were a lot of weeds and it just wasn’t full and a healthy green. We hired Perennial for the season, and the customer service has been consistently great. They customized our package for the best regimen for our lawn, and call us at least 2 days ahead to let us know the next treatment date. We are only 2 treatments in, but already we see a huge difference. The lawn is filling in and overall looks so much healthier!! We are very pleased with the results so far!"

"They are great. They really have to maneuver their equipment around my pool and nothing as ever knocked my wood or dropped anywhere on anything. There is a 50 feet Oak that they managed to take care of. It is family owned, very professional, very quick. I called them this afternoon and they came and did the estimate. They are a town business. They are the only tree company i have used. They are very response. He told me he would be here between 3 or 4 and he was here at 3:05."

"We started the process obtaining four estimates for a refreshening of our front landscaping as well as for a Spring and Fall Clean up with weekly maintenance. We chose The Slevin Group because we felt like the owner, Bill, really listened to our needs and vision for the property and was very intereactive in making recommendations for where some shrubs and plants might be better transplanted on other parts of the proeprty. Their annual contract for the spring/fall clean up with weekly lawn maintenance was very competative in price. <br /> The crew was out the day we were told they would be out and they worked really hard. The crew was very informative and sought our opinion on certain things. <br /> The entire landscaping looks amazing and we get compliments on it all the time. <br /> The weekly lawn maintenance, the crew is SO meticulous. They take the time to do things right. <br /> The office manager, Beth, just could not be happier with the level of communication. I get random emails regarding the weather, updates on that week's lawn service if the weather hasnt't been cooperating, etc. <br /> Look forward to a great year with them!! <br /> HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!! <br />"

"We did not have the best luck getting a timely response, Arthur suggested meeting at a nursery but as we tried to finalize a date/time he revised and said he was not available that week.  Three attempts (two emails and one voicemail) to get him to contact me on my cell phone (since I was repeatedly away from my email) got no response.  His final response suggested he was unaware we had tried to contact him and thought we had gone with someone else but he made to effort to reach out to us even though we had told him we wanted to move forward and were trying to arrange a time.  In my opinion he assumed that since we been unable to connect on the first couple attempts that we had gotten frustrated and found another contractor, either he didn't care enough about our business or was too busy to care.  We had gotten three estimates  and this one was in the middle of the range suggesting the pricing was probably at least fair though without seeing his work that is an incomplete assessment. <br />"

FAQs for lawn care aeration projects in Roseland, NJ

Aeration is the best way to keep your lawn healthy and vibrant. Annual aeration makes your lawn more breathable and helps nutrients reach the roots, improving water absorption and reducing puddles where pests might breed. However, timing matters. It's best to avoid aerating during droughts, extreme heat, or if your lawn is battling weeds. A local pro can help you determine the ideal time for your yard.

Most lawns benefit from annual aeration to keep them healthy and thriving. If your lawn has a lot of thatch buildup—more than half an inch—you might need to aerate twice a year for a couple of years to get it under control. But if your soil isn't compacted and there's minimal thatch, you might be able to skip a year.

When you hire a professional lawn care company, a standard 10,000-square-foot lawn takes about 30 minutes to aerate. Uneven, sloped, or especially large lawns can take significantly more time. So, depending on your lawn's size and condition, the process can take anywhere from half an hour to several hours.

The best time to aerate your lawn is during the spring or fall when your grass is actively growing and the soil has enough moisture. Aerating once in the spring and once in the fall yields the best results. Avoid aerating when your lawn is dormant or right after heavy rain when the soil is too wet—that can make aeration less effective.

Even if your lawn looks healthy, aeration can still be beneficial. If you have good growth, proper drainage, and little thatch, you might not need to aerate right away. Regular aeration helps water and nutrients reach the roots, keeping your lawn strong over time. Keep an eye on your lawn's condition to decide when it might need aeration.
