"Guy and his crew did an awesome job with a pavers project in our back yard at a competitive price. It totally transformed our backyard from a mud pit to a lovely, usable space. Love the result!"

"Response time was fantastic. They were easy to work with and saved me money by using chimney caps I already had instead of trying to "upsale" on new caps. Rebuilt the chimney crown and it looks great."

"Did a great job. Prompt response with cost proposal which was significantly less than 2 other bids. Explained everything clearly. Work was done on schedule and completed on time. And Jordan did not try to upsell me or suggest anything that was not necessary. I would definitely hire him again and gladly recommend him to others "

"I went through like 3 other chimney groups including Chimney Sweep Masters and they all gave me conflicting information. Emerald City Chimney on the other hand was honest and thoroughly dismantled all the b******* the others tried to sell me. That’s what happens when you actual experienced workers take the lead instead of salespeople. It took a while to figure out exactly what the best approach would be, but in the end I got a job done for like $650 when the others wanted like $3000. I bought a custom fit chimney cap myself for like $200 I think and then had emerald city retrofit and install it for $450."

"He was on time, great job, extremely professional, very nice to work with, and definitely knew what he was doing. His work was neat and clean, and did not leave anything behind (trash, tools, etc.) I could have not found a better person for this job, and will hire him again for future stone work. "

"I contracted them to build a retaining wall, rock pathway, turf install, metal edging and drainage. They were honest and open about pricing. They weren?t the lowest price but they did a amazing job with care and quickness especially the with the little details I would say they could be better with communication but I would use them again and recommend to other."

"Powers chimney and masonry did a beautiful job rebuilding a family members failing chimney that was unusable. In desperate need of heat their excellent workers did everything they said they would and more. Did all in 1 day and left no mess like they were never there. Also gave valuable free information about a wood burning stove they were having trouble with. Their price was unbeatable as well as the quality of work. Thank you again Zach and crew!"

Masons charge between $70 and $110 per hour. A mason may have a minimum service fee ranging from $80 to $300. Most bricklayers offer free estimates and charge only if you proceed with the project. A professional repointing lasts 20 to 30 years without maintenance and extends up to 50 years when maintained diligently. This process protects your brickwork using high-quality materials that ensure lasting performance and durability. Consistent upkeep preserves its strength and appearance, providing enduring protection and enhancing your home’s overall structural integrity for decades.

You know your house needs repointing when you notice clear signs such as cracked, flaking, or missing mortar and visible discoloration on the brick surfaces. Additional indicators include loose bricks, water damage, and gaps between the brick joints that compromise the overall integrity of the structure. Addressing these issues promptly protects your investment and sustains the durability and curb appeal of your home.

A house needs repointing to preserve both its structural integrity and visual appeal. Mortar acts as a vital bonding agent that holds the bricks securely together. When the mortar deteriorates, it exposes the structure to water infiltration and further decay, increasing the risk of costly repairs. Repointing stops decay and reinforces the exterior, ensuring long-term protection.
