"I interviewed 4 solar companies and NRG stand out the most because of the pricing. Kaelen came over and went through the numbers and everything made sense. I like the inverters and panels that NRG offered. Tiffany was great coordinating the project and handling the H.O.A. To get it approved by HOA took 3 days and after installation the city inspection took 1 day. Installers took 2 days to install 32 panels on a two story home. NRG seems like they really care because they sent out Robert after everything is completed to make sure I am completely satisfied with my solar. Love using the solar edge app and monitoring my production. Very useful tool if you want to manage your electricity. I am so pleased with NRG I am going to refer my neighbor who also wants solar. Thanks for everthing!"

"Made appointment, salesman showed up, went over options in great detail.  Did not pressure me in any way to make a decision.
After I did decide to go with them, salesman came back and I signed the contract and gave deposit.  He said that it would take about 4 weeks for the permits to clear etc. and then only 2 days for the actual install.
And this is the only complaint I have - I was not kept "in the loop" during that time, so after 6 weeks of nothing, I contacted them.
They had to reschedule the installation several times because of a previous job running long - they ran into unexpected issues with the roof.  BUT, they notified me each time - I was never left wondering if/when they were going to show up.
When they did the work, I couldn't be more happy with them.  The workers were polite, explained each step in detail, appeared to know exactly what they were doing.  Cleaned up after themselves, I just really couldn't be happier with the actual installation guys and the work they did.
After, they installed an online tracking system so that I can see exactly how each panel is working 24/7.
I've had the system running now for about 3 weeks and everything is going smoothly.
I would highly recommend them to anyone considering solar.

"It went very well. Everyone was very informative. They kept me up to date with the process and whenever I had a question, they were really prompt with their answers whether by email or phone. They were on time when they say they will begin work and the guys that installed my solar panel and inverters were very clean. I mentioned that I'm very worried about leaks because my son is very sensitive to mold and they made sure to seal everything very well n show us the work they've done and ask if we see anything that needs to be addressed. I was very pleased with the whole process. And it was easy, they took care of everything."

FAQs for solar panels for electric system repair projects in San Francisco, CA

Solar panels are fairly low-maintenance, but they do need occasional attention. A quick wash a couple of times a year and a yearly professional inspection help maintain efficiency. Watch for cracked glass, loose wiring, or hail damage; small fixes cost far less than waiting until output drops. If a panel is badly shattered, replacement—handled by a licensed pro—is often the smarter call.

Most panels last 25 to 50 years, so replacement is rare. Swap them out only when output drops noticeably, the warranty has run its course, or storm damage makes repairs impractical. Track your production data; if efficiency continues to slip even after minor fixes, it’s time to consult a solar installation professional and consider replacing a panel.

Homeowners are accountable for solar panel repairs unless their system is under a leasing agreement. Warranty coverage may reduce repair expenses for specific components. Warranty protection covers repairs when panels fail due to installation errors or unexplained issues. However, if a unit cracks due to an impact, the homeowner is responsible.

Always contact your installer and review your warranty before initiating repairs. Many manufacturers offer warranties ranging from 10 to 20 years. Inverters have a 10-year warranty, panels carry a minimum five-year workmanship warranty, and the overall system is protected for 25 years.
