"Renovation began 5/13/2013. Estimated to be a 4 week job. Work ended 10/25/2013. There were many delays due to their family illness and material orders taking twice as long as expected. The tile work was sub-standard and had to be redone. The tile redo was not much better than the original, uneven grout lines, irregular cuts and wavy walls. I would not use them to do tile work again. I would not use them at all because the distance (Brownwood to Abilene) seemed to be an inhibitor to their punctuality."

"Exterior door unit was rotting causing drafts and water damage to interior wood floor. The unit had two large glass panels and a center glass door. We needed a new custom aluminum clad door to prevent future problems when it rains. They made sure the delivered unit was free from any damage and coordinated with us in all aspects. They showed up when promised and provided contact numbers in case we had questions or concerns. We took bids on this job and are very pleased with the price and performance."

"He came back right after Thanksgiving to finish up because I had a lot of different things for him to do for me.
He did some tile work in the bathroom that the other guy had done that I'd thought had done a great job. Come to find out that the tile was pulling out because, he put a seat in the bathroom for me, the first guy, and when he did it, he only went into one 2x4. He got some lumber, I don't know what he got, we couldn't figure out where he got it from. It wasn't termite free and termites got back in there to it because the water, the tile started coming loose and termites got back in there. I had to have a man come from the termite exterminators come out and do some work and then we just had Mr. Nash to put another 2x4 back in there. So, when we put a seat back in for my husband to sit on while he was showering, that it wouldn't pull out and he put the tile back on the wall and filled it real good for me. Then he put some faucets in the house. He put up some grab bars for my husband. He did a whole bunch of work around here, I had done.
I thought he did good and he guarantees his work. He broke a tile and he told me and my husband that he would come back and put in a new tile because he didn't want water getting back there and leaking. So, he came back and put a tile in that wasn't broken. I thought he was, he was a very nice person. I real nice person and a real good worker. He brought his own workman with him and the 2 of them worked here. They did good work. I can't find fault with what he did. I was just so glad I had him. And he fixed the tile so that I don't have to worry about the grout coming out, because I worried about that. Since I'm the caregiver here I need all the help I can get. He is very good, I don't think you will find anybody better around town.
He would call and let me know he was coming so I could be looking for him and let him in. He was very courteous."

FAQs for cabinets refinish projects in San Angelo, TX

To find the best cabinet refinishing expert for your project, start by researching local pros and reading reviews from previous customers. Reach out to a few contractors to discuss your cabinets' size, condition, and the look you're aiming for. Don't hesitate to ask for references or examples of their past work. Speaking with previous clients can give you valuable insights into the pro's workmanship and reliability.

When speaking with potential cabinet refinishing pros, consider asking them several questions to gauge their experience and professionalism. These questions can help you gauge the pro's experience and determine if they align with your needs.

 • Do you offer a guarantee on your work?

 • Can you create custom finishes or colors?

 • Do you have examples or samples of your past projects?

 • Are you able to match the finish to other cabinets in my home?

 • How long will the project take from start to finish?

Regular care will help maintain the beauty of your cabinets for years to come. To keep your refinished cabinets looking their best, follow these steps:

 • Use gentle cleaners: Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the finish. A simple mixture of warm water and mild dish soap works well.

 • Clean carefully: Instead of spraying solutions directly onto the cabinets, apply them to a soft microfiber cloth and wipe gently.

 • Protect from heat and moisture: Try to minimize exposure to excessive heat or moisture, which can affect the finish over time.

It's usually less costly to refinish cabinets than to replace them, depending on the cabinet condition. Refinishing cabinets cost an average of $3,114 while replacing cabinets is about $5,000 or more. When deciding to refinish or replace cabinets, consider several factors, including how old your cabinets are, your budget, and whether you need to complete any other renovation projects at the same time.

It may be worth resurfacing (also known as refacing) your cabinets if they’re in good shape but you’re interested in a different look. This is often less expensive than replacing cabinets outright and can allow you to update the look of your cabinets to reflect your kitchen’s current style without having to get rid of them entirely. The cost to reface cabinets is around $4,300 to $10,000, and you can hire a local cabinet refacing pro to handle this work.

Refinishing cabinets takes about two to three days to complete. The process begins with removing cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware, followed by cleaning, stripping, and sanding the surfaces. Any chips, stains, or splits are repaired before applying paint or stain. After applying the finish, the cabinets are reassembled, and the workspace is cleaned up, leaving your cabinets refreshed and renewed.
