"I recently had the pleasure of using Hartman Roofing to install a new shingle roof on my cape cod two story home with dormers. The salesman ,Jansen Hale, can not have enough good words said about him. Jansen accommodated my work hours to arrange an appointment for the installation estimate. Jansen arrived promptly and was very professional. He thoroughly inspected our roof and came up with an accurate estimate on the time to install it and cost of it. Jansen gave suggestions about the colors of the shingles that might look good on our residence. We took his suggestions and picked one of the singles that he suggested. Jansen scheduled the install with a few days and gave us an ideal of what to expect and how long it might take. The roofing crew arrived as scheduled and began the install. The foreman, Hector, and his crew were the hardest workers I have ever observed. Hector and his men worked long days with a short lunch break and almost never rested. I could not believe the endurance that these men had and the skill they brought to the project. Any time I had a question the men would promptly get Hector who answered my questions. His entire crew was very polite and courteous. Hector and his crew completed the job on time and the work was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Jansen checked in after they completed the job and assisted me with some follow up documentation. My wife and I could not be happier with the roof installation that Jansen, Hector, and his crew completed. If you have a need for a roofing company, Hartman Roofing has proved itself to be professional, meticulous, dedicated, honest, of the highest quality you can find. THANK YOU JANSEN AND HECTOR, JOB WELL DONE!!!"

"QRS did an excellent job on my roof. Matt Terry is the best. He came to my door and said I needed new roof and that he could help me get it done. So I took the chance and trusted him and he was wonderful. He did all the work with State Farm and I just sat back. I got full replacement on roof, gutters and screens and Matt made that happen. All this was done just before Christmas, so I can relax and enjoy the holidays. Thanks again Matt and QRS.."

"Was contacted by the Owner (Rick) and he sent out a technician Travis Joslin. He was very professional, friendly, and knew his job very well! Since I hadn't used my system in a couple of years he checked everything out and he was honest and let me know that the system was in much better shape than what I thought it was. He only needed to replace a couple of the sprinkler heads and redirect a few more. I had a zone that wasn't providing enough water in one of my zones and needed to get another head installed and I also requested to get Drip lines installed into my flower bed. I made another appointment and Travis came out again; completed the work and I'm very satisfied with how my system is working. I would recommend this company if you're having any issues with your sprinkler system!! The company will return your phone calls, if an appointment is made they will show up on time, and if your tech is Travis expect Outstanding, Quality Work!!! I highly recommend this company and will use them for any sprinkler issue I may have in the future!!!"

"<p>Ground Zero did a top-notch job from start to finish! It is rare these days to be inspired to write a positive review, so let me dive in with the details:<br /> 1. Sales - I visited their showroom in South OKC. Alicia was very friendly and knowledgeable about the shelters. I'm an engineer by trade and had many geeky engineering questions; Alicia was able to answer every question I had about the construction and design. She walked me through how the entire process is handled, and even described OKC's building permit process.  Was so impressed that I made the purchase on-the-spot.  The price I indicated ($2300) was a sales price for the "smaller" shelter, so your price may vary.  <br /> 2. Permits/Pre-Install:  Ground Zero provided pre-filled forms for the building permit. If you live in OKC you can go online and apply, then fax the forms. They (the City) will call you back for your CC number and give you the permit number (which you provide back to Ground Zero.   Ground Zero people followed up with me four days before install to ensure that everything was on-track.<br /> 3.  Installation:  Here is where Ground Zero hit it out of the park. I have to admit I was nervous about the install, as I've had more than a few installations that were total nightmares. My installers - Raul (Installer) and Xavier (Helper) were on time, ready to start immediately, and were very polite and professional.  Since I had a Pre-Tensioned Slab we had to call Suncoast to cut /re-anchor the cables latticed underneath the slab, this caused Raul and Xavier some minor delay and re-marking, but both of them worked seamlessly with Suncoast with the modifications and everything quickly was back on track.  Raul quickly had the slab cut and dirt removed within 1.5 hours, he was able to finesse the mini-excavator like a pro, probably could use it to pick up toothpicks if he wanted. Xavier was constantly moving and took care of the 1000 other smaller tasks, Raul and Xavier worked together like clockwork and rarely needed to talk.   When they were done they cleaned EVERYTHING, not a spot of mud anywhere inside or on the driveway, Raul used the pressure washer for a good 30 minutes just on the driveway.  While Raul hauled the dirt away, Xavier finished the troweling on the cement backfill leaving it with a nice raised feathering that looks very professional.   NEVER in four hours on site did I see either gentleman take a break to loaf, they were constantly moving and working non-stop. <br /> I'm very pleased with the professionalism of the Ground Zero Team from Start to Finish, and pleased with the final product.   No, I'm not a "shill" nor do I work for Ground Zero. I am just one consumer that is tired of writing bad reviews for bad service, and pleased for once to be able to write an outstanding Review!</p> <br />"

"Prompt, very courteous. Was some confusion, I thought he was going to replace some rotten wood under the eve but he didn't, said he replaced wood on top and it wouldn't leak but the rotten wood over my patio is not pleasant to look at. Also they had to trim some trees that where overhanging and they left the limbs laying on ground. I am 77 year old widow and have no way to remove the limbs. The roof looks neat and professional but it hasn't rained yet so hoping it's as good as it looks. Mostly I am very pleased with the work and professionalism and probably would use them again with a clear understanding up front. <br />"

"Everything went excellent. Chris, Matthew and crew were tireless, courteous and most professional. A joy to work with and be around. This is a very rural area of Texas with long distances from their base to our house, they traveled many miles early in the morning and worked many days in 100 degree heat. As with any construction project there were surprises and delays for things, a normal occurrence whenever you are dealing with sealed areas and you open them up there will be things you do not want to see. <br /> Chris and Matthew really showed their character when dealing with our railings, a combination of metal and wood construction. It took a few extra days and I'm sure many extra hours in their workshop putting them together to where they were sturdy enough to hold up to the long distances they had to traverse. I mention this because they were adamant that my wife and I would be pleased with the final product and we are very pleased. I would recommend this firm for anything, if they say they can do it they will and to your satisfaction."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in San Angelo, TX

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
