"Browder painters, Drew and Brandon, just finished painting our kitchen cabinets. They were punctual, professional, respectful and very easy to have around the house for the six days it took to paint our 37 cabinet doors and 14 drawers. Each day they let us know what to expect and where they were in the process. One of the best parts about the overall experience is they liked their work and were happy with what they were doing. That says a lot about the company overall! Emily and Pam in the office were responsive and helpful, too! The transition from oak to Swiss Coffee (off white) is amazing! Thank you!"

"Berry Construction did an amazing job helping us to recover from a major flood caused by a plumbing problem. Randy worked with the insurance company to maximize our claim process. Mike did a great job managing the various crews. Billy helped us to stay within our budget to select fixtures, tile and other essentials. We are very pleased with the results."

"My initial contact was with Noah (owner's son), who gave me the original estimate. He did not do any of the actual paint work though. He had two of his employees do the work: Cruz, the project manager, and an assistant. Both of these guys were outstanding. They had excellent customer service skills, were always very polite and professional, arrived when they said they would, kept me apprised of the job status, were very conscientous about cleaning up each day, and regularly asked me to look things over to make sure I was satisfied each step of the way as they progressed with the job. Cruz took his responsibility as the PM very seriously, and exceeded my expectations with the quality of the work he did, especially in the refinishing of our front door. Our beautiful custom solid wood front door now has the finish it deserves! It looks terrific!
Their price was competitive (based on 2 other estimates I received), and the quality of the work they did was excellent, in particular the extensive amount of work needed to strip off the old finish, sand and then re-finish our front door. It ended up being more involved and taking much more time than Noah originally estimated, but he honored his original price quote, which I respected. (I've had other contractors who gave me a firm price with a written contract, and then after the job is completed, hit me with an additional bill saying "well, I underestimated how much time it would take, and I put in more time than I thought so I'd like to get paid more". Not a good way to do business, and certainly not a way to earn a happy customer! New Life did not do anything like that). Noah was very professional and honorable in all regards. After the job was all done, and he had been paid, we were sitting at the table talking about his business, the economy, etc. It was only then did explain that he underestimated how long it would take to refinish the door, and by inference, that the job cost him (labor wise) a lot more than he originally estimated, but he did not suggest or ask for any more money. That is how business is to be done. Sometimes you underestimate, sometimes you overestimate, and hopefully it balances out. (Actually, hopefully you get the estimates right to begin with!).
Overall, I am extremely satisfied with their work, and would not hesitate to recommend New Life Painting."

"Joe was very easy to work with, and did excellent work. His prices were very reasonable, and he often threw in things at no extra cost, which was wonderful! One of the things that I really appreciated was that he responded back to me promptly whenever I texted him. True to any business, there were times when unexpected things came up and he had to postpone work that he had planned to be doing for me on a certain day, but he always communicated these issues to me, and when I had something that really needed to be done right away (such as getting the plumbing to the washing machine fixed on a weekend) he found a way to make it happen. I will definitely be hiring Joe to do work for me again in the future."

FAQs for cabinets refinish projects in San-simeon, CA

To find the best cabinet refinishing expert for your project, start by researching local pros and reading reviews from previous customers. Reach out to a few contractors to discuss your cabinets' size, condition, and the look you're aiming for. Don't hesitate to ask for references or examples of their past work. Speaking with previous clients can give you valuable insights into the pro's workmanship and reliability.

When speaking with potential cabinet refinishing pros, consider asking them several questions to gauge their experience and professionalism. These questions can help you gauge the pro's experience and determine if they align with your needs.

 • Do you offer a guarantee on your work?

 • Can you create custom finishes or colors?

 • Do you have examples or samples of your past projects?

 • Are you able to match the finish to other cabinets in my home?

 • How long will the project take from start to finish?

Regular care will help maintain the beauty of your cabinets for years to come. To keep your refinished cabinets looking their best, follow these steps:

 • Use gentle cleaners: Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the finish. A simple mixture of warm water and mild dish soap works well.

 • Clean carefully: Instead of spraying solutions directly onto the cabinets, apply them to a soft microfiber cloth and wipe gently.

 • Protect from heat and moisture: Try to minimize exposure to excessive heat or moisture, which can affect the finish over time.

It's usually less costly to refinish cabinets than to replace them, depending on the cabinet condition. Refinishing cabinets cost an average of $3,114 while replacing cabinets is about $5,000 or more. When deciding to refinish or replace cabinets, consider several factors, including how old your cabinets are, your budget, and whether you need to complete any other renovation projects at the same time.

It may be worth resurfacing (also known as refacing) your cabinets if they’re in good shape but you’re interested in a different look. This is often less expensive than replacing cabinets outright and can allow you to update the look of your cabinets to reflect your kitchen’s current style without having to get rid of them entirely. The cost to reface cabinets is around $4,300 to $10,000, and you can hire a local cabinet refacing pro to handle this work.

Refinishing cabinets takes about two to three days to complete. The process begins with removing cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware, followed by cleaning, stripping, and sanding the surfaces. Any chips, stains, or splits are repaired before applying paint or stain. After applying the finish, the cabinets are reassembled, and the workspace is cleaned up, leaving your cabinets refreshed and renewed.
