"Very good explanation of roofing types, why the product they install is certified, how to care for the roof once it is installed, how the roof is designed to stay the same temp as the outdoors, preventing sweating or condensation, etc. I was able to make a clear decision on which product to have installed and the work was done very well. All clean up from former roof was done perfectly. New roof and gutters look fabulous. it increased the value of our home substantially and will last 50 yrs if we care for it properly."

"I don't usually write reviews, but definitely want to write one for Tekline Roofing. My brother in law recommended Tekline and we are very pleased we had their group do the work. Their customer service was excellent and they responded very quickly with questions. Norm was great at explaining the roofing process, how to get prepared, etc. The cost was very reasonable for the work that was done. Our home is old and has a somewhat complex roof and they definitely didn't cut any corners. We felt confident the work was being done well. The work took longer than expected, partly because they discovered there wasn't plywood on parts of our roof, something they couldn't determine until the old shingles were removed. Tha was excellent and came by our home a few days before the work started to discuss how they would protect our garden-landscaping. They daily placed tarps and plywood to protect damaging things outside and they cleaned up every day after 11-12 hours of hard work. Misael oversaw the daily work and took photos and the team shared updates and photos on a regular basis. At the end of the project, my garden looks great! The roof was just completed this week and they will be back to replace one of the skylights in our attic that was on backorder."

"We have been very impressed with North Creek Roofing. The estimate and package provided by Josh was very thorough. Josh showed up at the appointed time and even responded to an email on a Sunday night. He responded with an estimate within 24 hours - much faster than others. The estimate was not the lowest but their professionalism gave us a measure of security and the confidence that this was the business we wanted to deal with. Josh provided a package which included a shingle brochure for the shingle type we selected, a reference list showing other homes in the area that we could view, instructions on how to choose your roofing contractor, why to hire them, how to compare roof estimates, their certificate of liability insurance, and their terms and conditions. What did we get from other companies? Nothing. The crew kept us updated throughout the process. Gutter cleaning was included. This is a very professional company from start to finish."

"Pete and crew installed a new roof on our home in Auburn in 2008. It's now January 2020. Recently, I found a slow leak around the skylight they installed in my garage. After emailing Pete he was out the next business day to patch the leak. While here he noticed that the ridge vent that they installed in 2008 was an older style that could possibly let in rain if it was blowing real hard. His crew was out the next day and they replaced the entire ridge vent over 4 hours with snow on my roof. The leak repair, attic inspection and ridge vent replacement was all done at no cost to me even though the 10 year warranty expired over a year ago. Now that's what I call customer service! Thank you Horizon Roofing."

"I was very pleased with Anderson. Greg was very helpful with selecting our roof and everyone was very professional. The work was done on schedule and the cleanup was well done. When two years later I had a question about water leaking into the house they came out and make a thorough inspection of the roof and reported that the leak was from around a window."

"I'm managing a townhome property in Seattle and none of the big companies I called were willing to come to look at a leak issue on the roof any time soon, as they were fully booked for the next month or so. A few were not even willing to work on a townhome. Marlon came by on the day/time scheduled and was very helpful, despite the somewhat difficult access to the 4-story roof. He diagnosed the problem, took pictures of problem areas and of the repair work which included patching other spots on the roof as well besides the one I called about. Highly recommend and will be considering to hire in the future for other work."

"A small area was discovered in the attic space on the sheathing that had turned black from the entry of water. I looked up on Angie's List for a provider that would do a small job. I sent photos of the area to Cesar and he looked them over. He was able to diagnose the problem from the photos because the leak was adjacent to where one of the roof safety anchors is located. We made arrangements for him to come out to do the work as long as the cost was $300 dollars or less. He showed up on the day scheduled and went right to work. He took pictures before, during and after he completed the work so I could see exactly what he did. The photos were a great service since it meant I did not have to go on the roof to check the work. Cesar was given a check by my renter after completion of the job, and I received a detailed invoice later that night. I was totally impressed with the way he conducted business and that the price of the work came in under the maximum that I told him I would pay. It was a small job that many contractors would not bother with, but Cesar made me feel like it was important to him. The work involved removing of some of the composition shingles, replacing the anchor boot and installing it correctly and then replacing the roofing material. <br /> I would recommend this company for repairs and will continue to use them in the future. I will definitely ask them for a quote when I need a whole roof replacement in the future. <br />"

"Oh, The Joys Of Home Ownership We purchased our home in 2014 and since then there have been a series of things demanding our attention. This last winter (2016-2017) there were torrential downpours which brought with them two small roof leaks. So when we received an offer from Angie’s List for a new roof from Premier Construction Services, we decided to pursue it. Mike emailed me the next day to make arrangements to come out and take a look at the roof and discuss the project. Right away I could tell he was very passionate about his work and that it was important we thoroughly understood the different materials and techniques used to properly install a roof. He gave us several options at various price levels so that we could decide what would work best for us. We went with the TruDefinition Duration Shingles that come with the Total Protection roofing system by Owens Corning. Since we are on Social Security, this investment stretched our budget to the max. We are thoroughly impressed with Mike and his team, their professionalism and commitment to satisfaction. Now that the job is completed, we are very glad we listened to Mike and took his expert advice. Mike and his crew finished the job (32 squares) in 3 days including tear-off and didn’t cut any corners; replacing all the flashing, ridge and roof vents. During the entire process you could tell that it was extremely important to Mike that we were completely satisfied with the work and was delighted to answer any questions or concerns we had. Personally, we think Premier describes Mike and his crew and the job they did. Well done!"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Seahurst, WA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
