"The BEST customer service I have EVER received! If you need a new roof or roof repair, THIS is the business you want! Robert and BJ were amazing! They came for a free inspection and walked me through the process. They came when the insurance appraiser did and made sure I was comfortable with the whole process. They stayed in touch with me and were on site the whole time the roof was installed. Their crew was very prompt, professional, neat, and did GREAT work! Robert has a great incentive for referrals, and I was able to benefit from my neighbors using K&R Roofing, as well! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND K& R Roofing and love my beautiful roof!"

"Greg was very informative and had pictures of the products available to replace my old roof. He matched the shingles to a more recent shed that was built which was great. Responds promptly to text and kept me informed through the entire process. The crew working on my roof were very polite, hard working and you’d never know they had been to my house. I love my new roof and would recommend Greg and his team to anyone who is looking to replace their roof and reasonably priced. I can’t thank you guys enough for an amazing job you did!!!"

"Several years ago I used T&J Exteriors to replace 3 or 4 windows on a recently purchased home, so I contacted them again when I decided to replace the rest. My first experience was great; the owner met with me to determine what I needed and to answer questions. After the installation, he called to make sure I was happy with the product and service. My second experience was different; I had to leave a few messages before I heard back from the owner. He told me that he subcontracted out all his window jobs, saying someone would be out to measure. The man who did the measuring and the man who actually installed my windows were professional and competent, and I love the quality the windows. After the job was completed I did not contacted by the anyone to see if I was satisfied, but about a week later I got a call asking for payment. Maybe I am just old school but I believe spending more than $5,000 with a company entitles me to at least a "thank you for your business"."

"Took care of damage from tree falling on roof. It was during a very rainy season and they came and covered the roof to protect inside of house until repair could be made. Courteous and always responded to calls and questions promptly."

"I did not personally have a roof replaced, but a couple people I cut grass for had Apex Renovations replace their roof (one shingle, one metal) and another had him repair a leak around his chimney on a shingle roof. On the leak, the guy had 3 other people out there to fix it, but water was still coming in. Ben Bell, the owner, made sure it was done right, and the leak was fixed. They were all very pleased with the finished product. It has been my observation that people will do shoddy work on a roof that will provide a temporary fix, if it even helps at all (like the guy that had 3 folks out there trying to fix a leak). In my conversations with Ben, I can tell he takes pride in doing things the right way. Ben goes to church with me, as do a couple of his employees. I've also worked with him at Servpro a few years back. He's a good guy and has experience in construction, remodeling, water damage, etc. He has dealt with a lot of insurance agents. He's a good estimator. Ben is an honest, clean-cut guy out there trying to provide a valuable service to make provisions for his family. I trust his judgment and have no hesitation recommending him."

"I hate to provide a negative review for any company.  I feel obligated though since I use other reviews to determine if I?d use a company?s services, I want those individuals to provide honest and accurate reviews.  I feel obliged to do the same. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />I reached out to Horizon Roofing in late October.  I had an appointment set-up with a salesman to come out and take a look at my roof.  When he arrived it was determined that indeed my roof had extensive damage.  He was very nice and I really liked him.  Very nice, good ol? boy, casual conversation.  Answered my questions, great! <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />I reached out to my insurance company, new roof approved? no problem. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />I received the check from the insurance company along with details on the claim.  I was delayed in getting this information over to the salesman. When I did, he indicated that I would just need me to sign the contract and pick out a shingle color. Great!  <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />I had two appointments set-up with him to get things in order to schedule the install.  <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />One was on a Friday. I had the day off, told him to come by anytime.  I?d be there all day.  I did not hear from him at all.  I e-mailed him Monday to inquire what had happened.  He had a family emergency come up.  Not a problem, things happen. Scheduled another appointment.  When he was 20 minutes late for the second appointment, I called him.  He indicated <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />that he had septic issues at his home.  I can?t lie, at this point I was bothered. I think in sales, when you set up an appointment, you have to be vigilant of the time, at all times since you make appointments regularly. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />In an effort to get the ball rolling, I asked him to scan and E-mail me a copy of the contract on Tuesday.  I followed up Thursday since I had not received a contract.  He seemed annoyed that his office had not sent the contract. I received the contract Thursday afternoon.  At this point, I was reluctant to pursue doing business with Horizon Roofing. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />When I received the contract on Thursday, the date on the contract, was that same day.  That told me that was the first time it was sent to me, not Tuesday like I was told.  <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />I thoroughly review the contract.  I was expected to sign a contract that referenced stipulations on the back of the contract, but only received one page.  The contract indicated I had damage to my driveway, I did not.  The shingle color that I was to choose? I was sent a slew of literature without knowing what type of shingle I was to refer to in order to choose the color. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />My last effort was calling Horizon Roofing to speak with the sales manager.  The receptionist answered the phone on speaker.  I was not inclined to tell her what was going on because I didn?t want to express my dissatisfaction on speaker if there was someone else within ear shot. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />I called the sales manager to see if there was possibly another salesman could handle my roofing project and claim.  I thought maybe the salesman I was assigned had too much going on to adequately handle my project.  I received no call back. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />I have since reached out to another roofing company and received SUPERIOR customer service.  My roof install is scheduled for mid-December and I am looking forward to it. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Shady-dale, GA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
