"Mike and his team at MDK Remodeling did an amazing job on our new Trex deck. They were friendly, professional and very easy to work with. They were very communicative on the project and with updates required from our township. Would definitely recommend MDK for remodeling needs."

"Sam and hi family and staff worked in the heat wave of the summer in 2022. a three week roofing project. Our house has 5 chimneys, multiple barrel dormers on the third floor. There were 2 asphalt roofs that had to be taken off - and taken away. They were up on the roof every morning at 7 am, took their short lunch breaks - and got back up there. We heard them singing - in the heat . It was a lovely experience. Great attention to detail. We cannot recommend them enough. They are worth the wait . very fairly priced. hard workers."

"I'm fairly stingy with my ratings so take this Good rating as sign of a quality roofing company who stands by their work. Even a Good roofing company is hard to find in Philadelphia. I have found Marcy the owner is to be straightforward and honest, and though she can be a bit brusque at times, as she is in the Philadelphia roofing business I can understand. Their pricing is reasonable for quality of work. No roofer is cheap and if you apparently find one, don't trust them. We have a complicated roofscape (skylights, large AC unit mounts and penetrations, and major crickets required to clear drainage obstructions) and some leaking problems that predate our ownership. Castelli, and particularly their foreman Jimmy, have been generous in attending to drainage problems that may or may not have been a result of their work. I appreciate their work and the efforts made to help us negotiate our finicky roof. "

"Bad. We wanted metal roofing on certain portions. The color received was totally different from the catalog color. Mike initially agreed 100% with us, but when his supplier denied there was a problem, we were expected to pay AGAIN for the metal. We refused. While we waited for the second metal roof, materials were removed including the roll of copper flashing we paid for. It never came back.... we have flashing with the roofing metal that looks horrendous, lumpy,.... Again we paid for the copper. There were not enough ridge-cap shingles so a portion on either side was left unfinished. When I questioned that he said that it is his "signature look". Funny, I see it on no other picture of projects he did. I am still waiting for the snow guards... despite many promises.... Never saw him again after he was paid... my bad, I am trusting.... Never pay a self proclaimed "honest roofer" until you are 100% satisfied."

"We were at the point of replacing our roof and did an extensive search for a roofing company. After speaking with several companies we chose Roofing Logic, based in Quakertown, PA. Leslie, the owner, provided a very clear, informative and low-pressure presentation, offering many options based on price and type of materials available. Results were excellent and we were extremely pleased with the professional, hardworking crew, who arrived on-time and worked diligently to complete the project in a timely manner. Mike, the foreman, was on-site throughout. But the story continues. Just a few months later we were hit by a severe storm that did extensive damage to the outside of the house. Of course we called Roofing Logic back to do the work, this time including a new roof, siding, rake metals, fascia, soffit, gutters and downspouts. Again the results were excellent. We especially appreciated Leslie and Mike making several trips to assess our damage and helping us work with the insurance company to ensure that all damages were properly identified and repaired. Leslie, Mike and his entire crew are professional, on-time, thorough and extremely courteous. Our projects were completed in a timely manner and the job site was left spotless upon completion of the project. Pride in the company and crew is evident in all they do and we highly recommend Roofing Logic for high quality work at a reasonable price."

"A neighbor referred me to John and even though I had a smaller roof to replace, I felt like John personally made sure my project got done right from the beginning. They are detail oriented, organized and very responsive communicating. The crew were fast and professional, and John did a final clean up of the house himself after the new roof and gutters were installed. That kind of caring about your work and professionalism is very refreshing. And their prices are very good too!"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Sharon Hill, PA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
