"The work Joel and his team have performed on our property is beyond reproach and in fact above par, and completely beyond what we were expecting. We were expecting to have to be climbing over and around shingles, lumber, ladders, etc., and picking up staples, nails so my business pups would not be stabbed in their pads...but, it was not necessary! Joel's amazing team ensured not only every nail and staple was cleared, but also, not a single piece of wrapping paper, or scrap of ANYthing was left behind -- EVERY SINGLE DAY! We have seen other tear downs, and NONE has been as clean and professional as you and your amazing team. You should rightly be extremely proud of you and your team's work product. Northern Counties Roofing Systems is a top-notch company, and Pat and I were blessed the day you came out for a quote. Your employees have been gracious, conscious of our privacy, and not destructive to our shrubs and property. I shall repeat -- We are blessed to have you as our contractor. You are trustworthy, and deserving of all accolades, and you went above and beyond to ensure our happiness...those windows, tho?? We shall be referring any and all roofing work to Northern Counties Roofing Systems!"

"Our 26 year old shingle roofing was past due for replacement. Pacific West Roofing was one of the roofing companies we were considering. I contacted Todd Fischer from Pacific West, and he promptly came out to discuss the project with me. He was very knowledgeable and clearly shared all the latest roofing information with me and told me precisely what the project would entail. The fact that he is very personable, too, helped me to make the decision to go with his company. Because of all the rainy weather we had this spring, they had quite a large backload of projects. They were not able to start for a couple of months, but it turned out to be worth the wait. The crew arrived early in the morning on the starting date. They worked quickly and efficiently even though the temperature was in the triple digits. Because of the extreme heat, they had to quit a little early each day of the project, but they always completely cleaned up around the perimeter of the house before they left. As the project progressed, Todd showed me an area of dry rot and also pointed out some boards that were showing sun damage. He indicated that a couple of boards probably should be replaced now (or very soon) but left it entirely up to me about what to do about that and other areas of possible concern. I, of course, had them repair the area of dry rot and also had them replace the 2 boards that most needed replacing. That added a little to the cost, but it will be worth it in the long run. Roofing replacement is expensive, but because of the extent of the work they did, the quality of their work and the quality of the materials they used, I feel the cost of their service was reasonable and competitive. In addition to the above mentioned services, they also spotlessly cleaned the gutters (which were filled to the brim with decomposed leaves and other 'gunk') and added 3 attic vents to the roof. All in all, we are extremely pleased with Pacific West Roofing and Todd Fischer. The project went very smoothly and exactly as Todd originally presented it to me. I wholeheartedly recommend this company for your roofing needs. I am confident that you, too, will find working with Todd Fischer a pleasure."

"Job went very well from start to finish. Contractor gave estimate during initial visit and provided useful information on the regulatory inspection and approval process as well as details of the roof removal and replacement process. All scheduling estimates were achieved and workmanship of finished work was excellent. Jobsite was left in perfectly clean condition. I would definitely use Sunrise Roofing again and recommend them for anyone needing similar work. <br />"

"We hired CBX Roofs due to an old rundown roof with hail damage that needed to be replaced. They came out and gave us an estimate. They negotiated with our insurance company to get them to pay on roof replacement. They were very easy to work with and very pleasant. Robert was our project manager. He and a crew showed up early and worked until noon tearing off two roofs on day one. Inspection was scheduled by them and approved that day, roof was loaded, new roof installed the next day. They were done by 1 o’clock on day two including everything cleaned up and put away. Would highly recommend them for any roofing needs."

"I'm extremely happy with their work. These guys were prompt, worked hard and fast and pay attention to details. They are very polite and there was no bad language that is so common today. My house was roofed 8 years ago by a local roofer and I have had leaks in 2 different rooms every year since. He roofed over rotten wood so Chico Roofing had alot of wood to replace. Price a little high for my budget but worth the peace of mind. Love my roof! The man who handled my job was "Stoney" and he addressed all of my concerns and was available to answer questions even on the weekend."

"The crew did an excellent job. Very professional..answered all my questions. They checked for any rotten areas, replaced anything that was needed. did a good clean up. They tightened all the gutters and brought roof up to code. The roofing materials are of good quality and reasonably priced (Malarkey). The crew worked long hours in very hot weather to make sure that the roof was replaced properly and leak-free. The office crew were very polite and answered my questions very professionally. The estimator did an excellent job of noticing what needed to be replaced/repaired and presented that in the proposal. I would use Harbert again."

"The team from Ecoattics was outstanding. Beth gave us a great quote that included insulation, baffle installation and hole filling. Then she was extremely accommodating when we had to delay installation due to a roof leak. The crew was fastidious, and impossibly quiet. Hardly knew they were there. Seriously... they were even careful to quietly close the front door as they came in and out. They finished in one day, and the attic now has an immaculate, level blanket of deep insulation. They even took the time to insulate our attic hatch. Really terrific service!"

"Mr. Haas identified problems in our roof installation and issued a report. He suggested re-install and steps that we should take to get it done. It was a long process that involved county and DPOR. Mr. Haas was very helpful every step during the entire process. He is highly experienced and very responsive to our calls, text, and email. We eventually got the roof reinstalled in a very good quality. Mr. Haas was onsite multiple times to ensure the right materials and methods were used. It would not be possible without the help from Mr. Haas."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Shasta Lake, CA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
