"Couldn't be happier having my 2 large dogs contained. Nicole really helpful in explaining options - not pushy, just fun and informative. Rick VanBlargan installed the fence and trained me and the dogs. Super helpful and not condescending concerning my lack of technical understanding or my lack of dog training abilities. I am really pleased."

"Poor experience, resulting in rotten wood being put up, gates that did not close properly, and fence posts that were not evenly spaced. When we complained we were told we were difficult customers. They eventually fixed the rotten wood but the posts could not be fixed and were told it was our fault because we did not know to ask that fence posts be evenly spaced. (Silly us - we assumed they'd do it right the first time since this is their profession and we've never installed a fence before!)"

"They were fantastic. I highly recommend them. We were able to find the right look with wood railings and metal balusters. We did have some of the balusters that came loose, but they came right back and reglued them. They were a pleasure to work with and I would use them again in the future."

"Superlative! Couldn't ask for better. Worked with owner on detailed initial contract (I like that detail), but details could be fine-tuned with foreman as the work progressed. Owner responded promptly to a couple modifications with cost implications that I needed as work proceeded. Foreman Richard, who did the majority of the work, was skilled and meticulous, as well as friendly and easy to work with. All crew were polite and pleasant as well as working to a high standard. Only the gutter was subcontracted; all other work was done by employees. The pressure washing was done by an in-house specialist with a big rig! It was a big job and took several weeks, but they worked every day it didn't rain; no gaps while they worked other jobs; I really appreciated that."

"Their work has always been "top-notch." Over the last 25 years, they replaced the tile twice, repaired the coping stones when needed, and last summer installed all new modern coping stones. This spring they are scheduled to re-plaster the pool for the second time in 25 years. They also assist with deck renovation by applying the mastic between the coping and surrounding pool deck. We are always pleased with results of their work. They provide the cost of the work upfront and always stick to the agreed price. Scheduling is tricky as it depends on the weather but once they begin the work, they stick with it until it is done without much downtime for use of the pool."

FAQs for wood fence repair projects in Sherwood, MD

The time it takes to install a swimming pool fence varies depending on the project's complexity. A simple installation can be completed in about two hours. However, if your project involves concrete work, regrading, custom installations, or challenging terrain, it could take up to two full days. Each additional factor increases the labor and time needed to ensure your fence meets safety standards.

Yes, installing a lock on your pool gate enhances safety by preventing unauthorized access. A self-closing, self-latching gate with a key-lock mechanism provides strong protection, helping to keep children and pets safe. Securing your pool gate adds an extra layer of security and offers peace of mind when using the pool area.

A pool fence requires a specific height to secure the pool area. In most states, the fence must be 48 inches tall; some regulations require 60 inches for enhanced safety. Checking local building codes guarantees compliance with these height requirements. A taller fence strengthens protection and improves the overall security of your pool area, ensuring it meets stringent safety standards.

Mesh and tempered glass are among the safest pool fencing choices because their design and smooth surfaces make them resistant to climbing attempts. They provide consistent, rigid barriers that prevent unauthorized access to your pool area. These materials ensure optimal safety for children and pets. In addition, incorporating a pool safety net further enhances protection and addresses additional security concerns, ensuring that your pool remains a safe environment for all users.

Pool fencing requirements vary by local, state, and federal regulations. In most states, installing a pool fence is mandatory for safety and insurance purposes. Ask your pool fence pro for local regulations or check with your local planning department to understand the specific height and design requirements for your area. Complying with these regulations ensures legal compliance and enhances safety.
