"Eric and his team from A Plus Roofing did an excellent job in repairing my gutters, cleaning them and using hidden hangers. They were professional, prompt and did an excellent job. I would highly recommended A Plus Roofing. The customer service was excellent, was able to make an appointment quickly, and excellent follow up. This is the second time I am using them and would highly recommend them. Thank you for the service and excellent work!"

"Barb and her team are fantastic! We received a letter from our home owner's insurance company telling us that we needed to have mold and lichen removed from our roof or face costly penalties. As new home owners, the last thing we needed was to replace our roof after all the expenses of closing, moving, and making repairs. Barb came out to assess our roof, which turned out to be in great shape. Some close-proximity trees created the mold and lichen situation. With an expert consultation and some helpful instructions, Barb set us up for service. The team that came out to clean our roof was friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and safety-focused. We had our roof and siding cleaned, which brought both amazing curb appeal and peace of mind knowing that we no longer had harmful lichen and mold that could damage our roof. I would highly recommend Roof Renew Pros LLC."

"I requested quotes from quite a few well-rated roofing contractors in Houston area. From the start, they were very responsive and provided me valuable info about Owens Corning and GAF shingles. This was a first time for me to get my roof replaced. However, I also did homework about ratings of the various asphalt shingle brands, for example Consumer 101, Angies List, etc. The info provided by Anuar from All Over Exterior was well aligned with my research. They were professional in providing the quote, led through the processes of HOA approval and permit requirements, and scheduled their complete crew for work. They arrived on time at 8 AM, ripped the whole 40 Sq roof, installed a complete new roof including replacing about 4 sheets of decking, and completed the whole job with quality and warranty before the end of day. Then, Anuar arranged his crew for next day to complete all internal work. Being the original owner of this house, I saw more professionalism and quality from this contractor than my home builder."

"I had them to redo my whole roof 1.5 year ago and I found a piece of shingle fell off recently. I contacted the owner and they stood behind their work and promise. He quickly scheduled a follow-up and sent his team to fix it in a short period of time. In these days you can easily find any contractors do the work and work away with your money. However once the job is done, you will never see them again when there are any issues. This will not happen to Hi Tech Contracting as they are professional, responsible and trustworthy. Highly recommended!"

"I used Atticrawl for one of my historically old buildings, thought raccoons where entering to the attic. the smell of death was horrendous!!!! Luckily into the incredibly thorough cleanout and removal down to the insulation they found it to be squirrels . they sealed all access points and shared photos. Fantastic customer service communications with Ryan Abraham before during and after the job! He even shared photos of the chimney seal so my husband didn't have to go on the roof !!!! FIVE STARS!!!!"

"The job was completed by the agreed upon price, and the house was secure and warm again, within a week, as Pete promised. The interior work will be ongoing, as it was the holidays, he will come back in a few weeks to finish the interior of the attic. As noted we have hire Pete during the last 4 years for various projects, if something breaks or is not working he comes back and tries to repair or re-install it. And it generally is a item that I purchased! through no fault of his that it has failed! There are times when a manufacture discontinues making the item and parts, so it is the homeowners responsibility to replace it at their cost, which we had to do once and realize it happens, it is part of the construction/renovation process!"

"I highly recommend Alexander Home Improvement. Firstly, Marvin Sorto, who quarterbacked every aspect of the job is one of the most honorable businessmen I have ever met. I was out of town due to an illness in the family while Marvin and his crew completed installation of the new roof. Marvin refused to accept payment for the job from my wife. Marvin wanted my inspection and approval first! In addition,Marvin promptly and personally responded to every call. I have used Marvin and Alexander Home Improvement in the past and have recommended them to my friends. Alexander Home Improvement installed a new roof and insulated and sided the whole house. I am very happy I used them. Their prices are reasonable and the quality of their work is great."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Short Hills, NJ

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
