"They removed a huge oak that was looming near our house, making a surgical cut that preserved the viable part of the tree and protected neighboring trees that would have been destroyed if the oak had fallen. They also removed a smaller tree that was dying. They repaired dents in the yard and raked up all the debris. The team was efficient, courteous, and well-equipped--one of the hardest working crews we have employed."

"It is hard for me to believe that we are A&E Tree's first Angie's List Review!  What an honor.  These guys did a fantastic job trimming and pruning our overgrown trees.  They have all the equipment you can imagine.  Erik and his crew were amazing, very friendly and polite.  They were very clean and despite all their hard work, they were phenomenal on the cleanup.  This was a major concern for us as we had seen many other tree services contractors in for the quick buck and left a mess.  The pricing was very competitive.  I would recommend A&# tree for all your tree trimming and tree removal / stump removal without hesitation.

"They were very prompt. They did a wonderful job thinning my overgrown trees. They were flexible when I asked for beaches to go and even did a tree topping that wasn’t in the original estimate for a vet reasonable fee. The clean up was meticulous. Fantastic company. Will definitely hire again!"

"This experience reminded me of my junior year of college. I briefly dated a young lady that was considered by many to be drop dead gorgeous. Looking at the cover, she was a 12. Looking under the pages, she was a 7. So while at first glance she was too good to be true, three weeks of dating revealed the true personality. The luster quickly faded. Similar story here....

Adam came out and bid exactly what I wanted. The other 2 bidders tried to oversell. +1 for Adam.

His crew came the day he promised.  2 of three were very personable. One, not so much. +1 for Adam.

The work of the crew was top shelf. Seriously well done. I could not ask for better work. Or for better attitude from the guy who is balancing on limbs with a rope tied to his waist. If nothing else happened, these guys would get a 15 on a scale of 10. +3 for Adam. On a 10 point scale, he is rock solid 15.

But something else did happen...

Last March, my wife surprised me with a trip to Savannah, GA for my birthday, and part of that was a replica of the Bird Girl statue. The fiberglass statue weighs less than 50 pounds, and, to prevent theft,  is cable locked to the tree in my backyard. It is way too easy to carry away.

Work day arrives. No one knocked on my door. In fact, if I had not heard the chainsaws, I would not know they arrived. I walked out to greet the crew and was met with a attitude of one the men hastily moving equipment, outright avoiding me. As the crew was finishing, I realized why. They ripped the arm off the bird girl when they tried to move it in haste. Bird girl was wingless. I called Adam. No reply.

Adam eventually  arrived (and if I did not walk outside, I'd have never known he was there). He first stated that they repaired it best they could, and then after being asked to pay to replace it, immediately went in to (not so) subtle insults as to why this was all my fault. Paraphrasing.... "Who would secure a statue to a tree?" Followed by "Who the  leaves their sprinklers on while my guys are site," and the real killer "You jacked me down to $700 for $1000 of work."  I did not make him take the job. I offered to pay in cash if he lowered his price by $50. He accepted.

I originally hastily concluded that it was tree damage that killed the bird girl. What apparently happened was the worker went to move it (he likely thought it rather heavy) and broke the arm when the cable drew tight. Once I learned that I conceded that it could have been avoided if I moved it. But like so many of us that have a 60 hour a week job, and a busy life, I did not get it done.   But I would also suspect that it would not have been difficult to knock on my door, tell me that they arrived, and ask that I move anything that is in their way. The cable is quite obvious and has bright orange ring on it. Do that, and you remove all risk of liability. Lessons learned.

I agreed to 50% liability on the broken statue. Move on and move forward. AND his crew did a wicked awesome job. Seriously, if you don't foresee any potential dispute and the price is right, hire them right away. The problem is, who foresees potential disputes? The absolute worst part of this is that I wanted a company that does a great job, and that can come out every year to do $500 to $750 worth of trimming. I'll gladly pay for quality. But not at the cost of being insulted when an unfortunate accident occurs. To me, the whole point of this reviewis not who is at fault. It's how customers are treated when you don't like their request."

FAQs for tree stump removal projects in Sibley, MO

Always transport chainsaws with the engine off and chain brake engaged. Use the protective bar cover provided by the rental company to prevent accidental contact with the cutting chain. Position the chainsaw securely in your vehicle to prevent movement during transit, ideally in a truck bed or trunk rather than the passenger compartment.

For gas models, ensure the fuel cap is tight and position the saw to minimize potential leakage. Keep the chainsaw away from passengers and other items that could be damaged.

Proper safety equipment is essential when operating any chainsaw. At minimum, you should have eye protection (safety glasses or a face shield), hearing protection (earplugs or earmuffs), cut-resistant gloves, chainsaw chaps or pants, and sturdy boots with good traction.

Many rental facilities offer basic safety kits alongside chainsaw rentals. If you'll be using chainsaws regularly, investing in quality personal safety gear is advisable. Never operate a chainsaw without appropriate protective equipment, regardless of the job size.

While rental companies will rent chainsaws to beginners, inexperience significantly increases safety risks. If you've never used a chainsaw before, request a demonstration from the rental staff and thoroughly review the operator's manual before starting. Begin with smaller, more manageable cutting tasks to build comfort with the tool's operation.

For significant cutting jobs, consider either taking a chainsaw safety course first or hiring professionals instead. The learning curve for safe chainsaw operation is steep, and caution is paramount.

If mechanical problems develop during your rental, immediately cease operation and contact the rental company. Most reputable rental businesses will either provide a replacement chainsaw or repair the equipment if the breakdown resulted from normal use rather than misuse. Document the issue with photographs when possible and maintain records of when you reported the problem.

Having your rental agreement readily available when you call will expedite the resolution process. The rental company should adjust your rental period to account for any downtime.
