"KitchenLift completely remodeled my kitchen, down to the slab. Demolition was completed quickly and without mess. When it came to choosing new cabinets, flooring, backsplash, and countertops, the owner, John Zullinger, was extremely helpful in providing me with the pros and cons of my choices (which I asked for), without trying to persuade me one way or another. He is meticulous about the job, and it showed in the result. The subcontractors he hired were professional, did extremely good work, and cleaned up after themselves. The overall result was a beautiful new kitchen, done painlessly, in a very short period of time. I would definitely recommend KitchenLift and would hire them for future projects."

"Capmire is the way to go. We had a 9 week complete kitchen remodel. Walls removed with a kitchen floor plan change. Custom cabinets built on-site with new tile floor in entry and first floor. Granite counter tops were fabricated on-site. Water line and gas line rerouted, painting and new electrical for can lights. We believe our project went smoothly for two reasons: 1) we knew exactly what we wanted to do and had already researched materials and 2) Capmire has an impressive team. They called in all the right people for every aspect of the job. They offered advice along the way while keeping our dream kitchen their priority. Capmire's work ethic is beyond compare; they were honest, completely respectful of our home and were always on-time! If the client isn't happy, their job isn't finished and it shows in their work. They have impeccable craftsmen on their team and they are proud of their work. We are proud of their work!!! We were so excited to have our dream kitchen finally, but we were also sad to see them go. Thank you, CP!!"

"Bought an Angie's List deal, and the job went even better than I expected. Installers arrived a little early and got straight to work removing 30 year old formica tops, sinks and faucets. I expected more damage to the area around the tops just due to the age of the vanities but there was little damage. The granite was cut on site and installed along with new undermount sinks and my newly purchased faucets, and the result was perfect - no snags, no issues, and the area was cleaned up well. I have been slowly upgrading the bathroom over the last couple of years, and have had a hard time deciding on granite versus quartz versus laminate, colors, etc., and just what constituted the best value for my 35 year old townhouse. Great Priced Granite was offering an Angie's List Deal for $349 for a granite vanity top, and had great ratings, and I finally decided to go for it and bought 2 when I saw they were offering a color (Tea Brown) that I liked. The measurer came out with a sample which was great, as I could see it up in the bathroom, rather than just in a showroom. When it was finally installed I was worried that too much gray came through instead of the brown, but it changes according to the light source, and it really works great in my bathroom so I'm very happy with the choice. All in all, it was a good experience, and Sarah in the office was very patient with my questions as we got it all scheduled. I will definitely consider Great Priced Granite when I get around to redoing my kitchen in a few years."

FAQs for cabinets refinish projects in Simonton, TX

To find the best cabinet refinishing expert for your project, start by researching local pros and reading reviews from previous customers. Reach out to a few contractors to discuss your cabinets' size, condition, and the look you're aiming for. Don't hesitate to ask for references or examples of their past work. Speaking with previous clients can give you valuable insights into the pro's workmanship and reliability.

When speaking with potential cabinet refinishing pros, consider asking them several questions to gauge their experience and professionalism. These questions can help you gauge the pro's experience and determine if they align with your needs.

  • Do you offer a guarantee on your work?

  • Can you create custom finishes or colors?

  • Do you have examples or samples of your past projects?

  • Are you able to match the finish to other cabinets in my home?

  • How long will the project take from start to finish?

Regular care will help maintain the beauty of your cabinets for years to come. To keep your refinished cabinets looking their best, follow these steps:

  • Use gentle cleaners: Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the finish. A simple mixture of warm water and mild dish soap works well.

  • Clean carefully: Instead of spraying solutions directly onto the cabinets, apply them to a soft microfiber cloth and wipe gently.

  • Protect from heat and moisture: Try to minimize exposure to excessive heat or moisture, which can affect the finish over time.

It's usually less costly to refinish cabinets than to replace them, depending on the cabinet condition. Refinishing cabinets cost an average of $3,114 while replacing cabinets is about $5,000 or more. When deciding to refinish or replace cabinets, consider several factors, including how old your cabinets are, your budget, and whether you need to complete any other renovation projects at the same time.

It may be worth resurfacing (also known as refacing) your cabinets if they’re in good shape but you’re interested in a different look. This is often less expensive than replacing cabinets outright and can allow you to update the look of your cabinets to reflect your kitchen’s current style without having to get rid of them entirely. The cost to reface cabinets is around $4,300 to $10,000, and you can hire a local cabinet refacing pro to handle this work.

Refinishing cabinets takes about two to three days to complete. The process begins with removing cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware, followed by cleaning, stripping, and sanding the surfaces. Any chips, stains, or splits are repaired before applying paint or stain. After applying the finish, the cabinets are reassembled, and the workspace is cleaned up, leaving your cabinets refreshed and renewed.
