Once work began, they said the 90-year-old chimney needed a partial rebuild and charged $9,500 ? more than a previous $8,000 quote I had received for a full rebuild. I proceeded because the project manager, Hector, promised fast, high-quality work that would last at least 15 years. The job was completed quickly, but when I inspected the roof, I found cement spilled across my new shingles, several torn shingles, and an uneven crown. Nothing about the work justified the price.
