Instead, the technician upsold her on replacing her entire electrical panel, every outlet in the house, and multiple smoke detectors. While a few receptacles may have needed replacement, that was not the original issue, and she ended up paying over $1,000 for nine outlets and two smoke alarms. They also tried to push a full panel upgrade that was not necessary, quoting nearly $3,000 total. She trusted their word because she is not familiar with electrical work, and they clearly took advantage of that. This felt predatory and dishonest. If you are calling on behalf of someone who may not be technically savvy? like an elderly parent or partner? be very cautious. I would not recommend Mr. Sparky."
