"Called the office and spoke with Duane. He was very professional and honest, and informed us that installing an attic fan when we already have a roof ridge vent is not recommended. We actually already had the electricians here to do their part but ended up cancelling the whole project and will instead be cleaning the soffits. Based off of this interaction, if/when we are in need of some roof work, I will definitely be calling this company."

"I had a 20+ year old skylight that was leaking. Joe came out to the property twice when I had a followup question so that he could provide me with an accurate response. The roofers that came to install the skylight were courteous and professional. After the installation was complete the edges of the roof were re-sealed and silver-coated."

"Excellent. We could not imagine this project going better! Jake Esh's approach to our project was extremely professional. He was very patient with us during the design / planning phase, and offered many suggestions that resulted in excellent results. For example, he suggested adding an additional two steps to the staircase going down to our yard, pointing out that the existing steps were steeper that they should be. Being seniors, we really appreciated the upgrade. Jake suggested framing the deck , and using the invisible nail system, versus the standard design. The Stony Ridge price quote came in lower that our other proposals that did not contain the upgrades. Jake and his men were extremely professional and considerate during the entire project, completing it well within schedule. Very, very detail oriented. They discovered a wood rot issue at the base of one of my walls , pointing out improper installation. They removed the siding, replaced the damaged plywood and properly replaced the siding at no additional cost. We were amazed, because they had a perfect right to charge us additional but did not. During the install I requested accommodations for me to install a fan on the Pergola. Again Jake installed a frame for me to mount my fan to at no additional cost. During the project we were so impressed that we requested they add installation of two doors. We were given a more than fair price, and the door installation was also excellent. Our deck turned out absolutely wonderful. Our friends and family all say that it's the most beautiful deck that they have ever seen. We agree! Vincent and rose Grisafi"

"These guys are great and really professional. They have someone on staff to answer the phone which is important because you never know if other places will call back ever. Marcy was super organized and, despite a major summer storm burying them in business, her boys were out in a day or two to look over my roof. Within a week, it was done. The crew itself was three guys who were extremely courteous and professional and then they swept up my whole front walk immaculately. The price was very reasonable and they even took photos of the new roof and emailed them to me afterwards. I've now had my roof redone four times and these guys were the most professional outfit I've ever worked with."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Southeastern, PA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
