"This crew is a hard working dedicated group of men. They showed up on time, worked all day and did a fantastic job. I changed my mind on colors a couple of times during the process (before a huge surface was complete) and they immediately changed over to my new choice. I have all wood trim and a partial wood ceiling and beams, I had no idea that wood could be so unpredictable. They were patient with me, Yuri (owner) painted one section of trim with the color I chose, he recognized that the color I picked was probably too dark and stopped painting and asked my opinion. He was right, it was too dark and it was the color I had asked him to purchase. He then advised me about possible different colors that would provide the effect I was looking for. I picked a new color and it was exactly what I wanted. Later, after drying for a couple of days, I saw some flaws that surfaced (my dogs hair got stuck on one of the wood structures while the finish was drying). No questions asked, they came out the next day and fixed it at no extra cost. This company will give you an honest quote and finish the job way faster than anticipated. The only draw back is this: the first day they paint ALL the ceilings, so, if you can, get out of the house. Which for me, during this unusual C-19 time was impossible. But they were patient, understood when I removed plastic that they had to install to protect surfaces. They are super fast. I mean SUPER fast. Bottom line, having the whole interior of your home painted during C-19 is not ideal, but this company is. If you have further questions please do not hesitate to call me. Yuri and Mike have my information."

"I recently had my shingle roof replaced and I?m very happy with the results. The team was professional, punctual, and completed the job efficiently. The quality of the work is excellent, and the new roof looks great. They kept the work area clean and communicated well throughout the process. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing a roof replacement."

"Danny was an absolute pleasure to work with. Upon initial contact he scheduled a prompt meet and greet to discuss the work we needed done and to provide a very reasonable quote. We needed to get some of our wood stairs and wood boards on our deck repaired and the deck power washed and restrained due to damage from a getting a furniture delivery. Danny set us up with his carpenter to do the wood repairs (a very great guy to work with) and Danny did the power washing and the staining. Danny was very flexible with scheduling a date to do the work, and a fast, efficient and effective worker. We are so very pleased at the work that Danny completed for us. His staining was meticulous and we would recommend him to anyone needing painting, staining or power washing."

"Alex Williams led a team from College Works Painting and completed painting the exterior of my house in June, 2018. He was professional throughout the job, communicating regularly, and delivering quality work right on schedule. I would recommend Alex who clearly has a grasp on how to approach painting projects in this his second summer with College Works."

"I highly recommend this company. My daughter lives out of state and selected this company to give me a Christmas gift of having my windows cleaned. I could not be more pleased. Everyone from the owner, to the gentlemen who came with him to wash the windows, were polite, friendly, professional and respectful of our home. They wore boot covers at all times, asked permission to use the restrooms and were just plain delightful. I highly recommend this company and would be happy to speak with anyone who has questions or concerns. Enjoy!"

"I hired Charter Painting and Restoration to paint the interior of a house I had just purchased prior to Move-in. In addition to painting the walls/ceilings/trim, there were two rooms (living room and bedroom) where the ceilings were cracked that I had wanted repaired - the bedroom also had a closet with a hole in one of the walls that needed to be repaired as well. Jim Charter, the owner, met me at the house to review work that needed to be done and to provide an estimate. From the start, I found him to be very respectful, professional, and helpful. Having been in the restoration business for several years, he was able to provide options and suggestions as to the best approach with respect to both the painting and the repairs. He was also able to identify areas that might not need to be addressed thus being respectful of cost. Price quotes for every room were documented and provided to me up-front thereby ensuring transparency/no surprises. No money was requested up front - all supplies are purchased and all work is completed with payment when the job is complete. The team was able to start work shortly after we met which was helpful as I was on a time schedule to move. Hector, the foreman, was very helpful and communicative as well - providing additional suggestions as to options for the ceiling repair. He even offered to install a new light fixture for me as I was replacing what had been there previously. The work was completed in less than a week and the results are beautiful. Would gladly recommend and/or hire Charter Painting again."

FAQs for exterior home or structure paint or stain projects in Staffordville, CT

Painting vinyl siding is a budget-friendly way to revive curb appeal without paying for new panels. As long as the boards aren’t warped, cracked, or leaking, a coat of high-quality acrylic paint can buy you another five to 10 years before replacement.

Stick to lighter shades so the siding doesn’t soak up excess heat, and prep the surface well for the paint to bond. If you’re seeing rot or moisture damage, skip the paint and plan for new siding instead.

High-quality acrylic paint is recommended for vinyl siding. Acrylic paint adheres firmly to vinyl surfaces and resists peeling and fading, providing a sleek and long-lasting finish. Ensure the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for optimal results. Your exterior painting pro has the expertise to properly prepare your siding’s surface to ensure proper adhesion.

Priming is not required if the vinyl siding remains in good condition and is properly cleaned. However, if the original color is severely faded or the panels have become porous, priming becomes essential. Priming provides a smooth, even base that improves paint adhesion and enhances durability, ensuring the acrylic finish adheres properly and lasts longer.

A paint sprayer is the quickest, most consistent way to coat vinyl siding. The fine mist reaches grooves a roller can miss and lays down an even layer in a fraction of the time. You’ll still need a brush for tight corners, but a sprayer slashes labor hours and reduces lap marks.

If you’re renting equipment, ask the supplier for a tip size made for exterior acrylics so the paint atomizes correctly and sticks to the siding.

Painted vinyl siding lasts between five and 10 years. The durability depends on the quality of the surface preparation and the local climate conditions. When the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepped, and high-quality acrylic paint is used, the finish endures longer. In hotter regions, the lifespan may be closer to five years, while cooler climates help extend it.
