Unlike some contractors I've experienced in the past, he listened to our wants and needs. Discussing what could and couldn't be done while providing the details. I knew they were offering us to be partners in the process, not telling us what the project would be like others had. The team was professional and reliable i knew I could trust them in every facet. "Scott provided a good quote that described the work to be done with accurate pricing. This included: demo of the existing structure, disposal of the old decking and footings, installation of new footings, framing, Azek decking with a picture-frame border, and aluminum picket railing. During demolition of the decking, Scott discovered some dry-rot on the siding (where the previous deck hadn't had **any** flashing installed). He was able to add the demo and replacement of that siding with new pre-primed siding (we opted to paint it ourselves) as a separate quote at a per-hour amount with an estimate for hours and materials. The final product is excellent and my family is loving being out on our deck and enjoying our backyard! The only issues we ran into were in regard to communication and scheduling. Scott did a good job of communicating the plan when he was on-site or had finished up a stage in the project, but he did not do a good job of keeping us in the loop when schedules changed or there were delays. We also were the ones that needed to initiate contact after the schedule had gone off-track and find out when the next stage was going to begin. I would've appreciated (and would ask for) a more concrete schedule for the project laid out at the beginning and updates over time if that schedule needed to adjust. (Note: The railing was a known time-delay in the process and Scott did a good job communicating that it would be 3-4 weeks after construction of the deck was complete before the railing was finished being fabricated and installed.) Generally he was responsive on the first text/email, but the follow-through to finish the conversation and answer all questions wasn't always there. All said, Scott did a great job with the work we hired him to do and the deck is fabulous. It might've taken longer than originally hoped and with a few more bumps in the road, but as I said above, we're very happy with the end result."

"We have used one company exclusively out here who the brand that my garden tractor mower is. I was beginning to think that I was going to have to trade in my mower even though it did not have a lot of hours on it. I taught maybe it was a lemon or something and I had arranged for that company to come repair it again and they never showed to pick it up. I made an appointment and they were a no show. I thought maybe it was time to think about somebody else and so I started looking. We had a hard time finding small equipment repair places. We had a lot of issues so we actually drove to this shop before we decided and asked them what they thought. We asked what their charges were and more importantly I wanted to know what their turnaround time was because the other place took about four to eight weeks at a time. It is really hard at this time of the year and we need it. They had a quick turnaround time and they did come pick it up. They honored a ten percent discount because it was from Angie's List. We arranged for them to come and pick it up. They came when we had arranged and they had it back in about a week. Their price was considerably less than the other company and it's running like its brand new. I don't know what that company was not doing but its running. I had forgotten what it could do because it hadn't been running well for so long. I'm just thrilled. I was quiet pleased, its way better. I had a problem with my mower deck and the other companies were just kind of like it's going to cost a lot, there are no parts, it's going to have to be recreated and went on and on but this company was like it's going to need a little bit of welding and it's no problem. So I was pretty happy. I have no complaints."

We worked with several companies for quotes on our new deck but went with Method Finish Carpentry, mainly based on their price and professionalism.  The quoting process was extremely detailed which provided an easy way to see where we could make simple trade-offs and also track our costs throughout the project.  Method even provided some creative ideas (e.g. baby gate) and solutions (e.g. removable decking) when we needed to augment the existing design.

The Method team was extremely gracious when entering our home, always removing shoes and ensuring that there was no trace left behind.  The same goes for our yard and deck area, as well, as the team took the time to clean-up after themselves everyday which was incredibly thoughtful given that we have three young children.  The finished product certainly exceeded our expectations - the deck looks great and the team went above and beyond to install a weed barrier under the deck prior to the final construction and even let us know where flashing was incorrectly installed and offered to reinstall correctly (charging only the time and materials needed).  We are incredibly pleased with the outcome.

We are currently finishing a large scale interior remodel of our home and I know that we will use the Method team again on several interior projects.
