"Clint with Armed Forces roofing did a great job on our roof. Clint met with the inspector and made sure everything went smooth with the insurance adjuster. His crew was professional and cleaned up the mess after the roof was installed. If anyone is in need of a roof, I would recommend Armed forces roofing."

"I had a minor leak on my roof.  Other roofing companies gave me estimates for a new roof.  Strahan told me that I would be wasting money on a new roof, because me roof was still in good condition.  Well, Strahan was right.  He sent a roofer to make the repairs.  The roofer took only an hour or so to repair the roof.  I have not had anymore leaky roof problems.  Strahan & his roofers are very professional and honest.  I would recommend Strahan Roofing to anyone homeowner in the Monroe, Louisiana Area. <br />"

"Our "only" negative comment about Ground Zero Shelters is that they do not come to a persons residence to give the sales pitch and demonstration. You must go to their showroom or see their product at a home show. This being said, we were extremely happy with the sales experience, reminders and installation of our shelter. They called about 10 days prior to the installation for a reminder, their installers called the day before and the morning of the installation to remind us that they would be at our home at the designated time. They showed up as promised and were completed with the installation in less than 1 1/2 hours time! Thank you Ground Zero!"

"Good, finished on time, workers worked as a team and worked with basic tools.....nail guns with roofing nails, magnet bar for nail removal on the ground, and man power to move heavy and pick up litter. The trailer that was used to haul off the old product could have been a lot more secure to avoid the possibility of loss while on the road to the dump! Best if same crew is together brad, johnnies, steve, chuck, balanzo, and josh."

"The heater they supplied was a good one.  However, they sent an inexperienced repairman to replace the heater.  He slipped and fell through our newly remodeled bathroom.  The company repaired the hole in the wall with the wrong texture and then wrong the  type of grout.  We are going to have ceiling repaired by a company recommended by the my daughter who works for one of the largest builders in the country.  I have cancelled my service with the warrantee company.  I now have to pay an additional $150.00 to have the ceiling refloated and all the wrong grout taken off and replaced with the correct type. <br /> <br /> *In response to service provider response: We hired 1 contractor that they recommended. He came out and said that he did a lot of work for High Tech. He fell through the ceiling that same day. We called High Tech the same day. They wanted my husband to go up in to the ceiling to get a model number. He is 79 years old and could not do that. We then had to contact a different service provider and pay an extra $150.00."

"Carl and his crew found and replaced rotted roof decking before putting down new roofing material. He and his crew were very thorough in laying the new roof, used quality materials, and did not skimp. The roof was thoroughly covered and flashing was beautifully installed. In my research, I found that the price Carl quoted for the work was spot on per square foot. And he has been very responsive to follow up questions when I have had other work done on the house that might affect my roof. Excellent workmanship, service, and products. Pretty much the only time I have ever spent a large sum of money and felt I got the full measure of every penny spent. <br />"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Sterlington, LA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
