"Philip did a wonderful job on our cabinets. The natural walnut cabinets in the family room are beautiful like a very high end library (exactly what we wanted). The insides are designed with interior spaces to exactly hold our stereo equipment, CDs, movies and games. Philip worked with me and did multiple test samples to get the exact custom finish I wanted for my vanities. He made several excellent suggestions on improving the overall design. We would highly recommend him for custom cabinet work."

"I was extremely pleased by the work done - the attention to detail was outstanding. Paul was kind enough to install a pull on the new recycle center. Nate was also professional and personable. Installation took about 2 hours and that included a tricky drawer to recycle center conversion. I am exceptionally pleased with the end results - I can reach everything in my limited cabinet space with ease and am able to store a lot more items underneath my sink. This is a top-notch company with a great product that aims to please its customer. Thank you so very much - I am thrilled with my revised kitchen! I would not hesitate to recommend All Organized to anyone who is looking to improve kitchen functionality. "

"Ribolin Finish Carpentry did a fantastic job replacing our bathroom cabinets as part of our remodel. Dan was very easy to work with and suggested ideas to help utilize every inch of space. The finished product is exactly what we envisioned and such better quality than what we had before. I highly recommend Ribolin Finish Carpentry and will definitely use them again for my next remodel."

"After initially contacting two general contractors recommended by family and close friends; and waiting three weeks for promised estimates/bids that never materialized, I decided to give Angie’s List a try….a community of neighborhood contractor references. I quickly short-listed four general contractors (three of them from Angie’s List) with recent experiences in condo/apartment unit bathroom and vanity remodeling in/or near Alameda, CA. I selected London Restoration for the project: bathroom, hallway vanity and closet remodeling. Catching my eyes was London Restoration’s specialty in kitchen, bathroom and vanity cabinet-making. This review shares my experiences of London Restoration through initial contact; estimate/proposal/ bid; project execution; and completion and wrap-up. Initial Contact: Of the six total contractors I contacted for this project, only London Restoration answered with a “live person”. His name was Patrick, the office administrator for London Restoration. He took down my contact information and general summary of my proposed project. Two days later, I met with Dean Jensen (owner, general contractor, project manager) at the condo unit for a walk-through and detailed discussion of my proposed project. Immediate impression: responsive and timely. Estimate/Proposal/Bid: My initial face-to-face meeting with Dean Jensen was at the condo unit. He was on time; waiting for me at the Visitor Parking Lot. We discussed the project scope in detail; Dean took measurements and notes; and made design recommendations consistent with my design criteria: durability, longevity, and classic appearance. Within 24-hours, I received an email from Patrick with the proposal and estimate for the project. It was very nice of Patrick to give me a courtesy call on my cell that I have the project proposal in my email box. All other contractors required 1 to 1-1/2 week and a follow-up email from me to submit their respective bid. London Restoration’s bid was detailed and comprehensive including diagrams (the best of all bids received). Full transparency was provided with line-by-line costs. London Restoration’s bid was very competitive, but was not the least expensive of four bids received. I selected London Restoration because Dean was most creative with the bathroom and vanity cabinet design recommendations. His competitors provided standard, “pick it up at Home Depot/Lowe’s “cabinet recommendations. Project Execution: Project started immediately the following Monday. Hallmarks of London Restoration’s project execution: and middot; Dean was expedient securing the requisite permit with the City of Alameda; and scheduling of periodic inspections as the project progressed. Both Dean and Marvin established a respectful rapport with the building inspectors. They anticipated building inspector’s requirements and implemented them before it became a documented finding. and middot; Punctual. Dean (pm, cabinet-maker), Marvin (plumber, painter) and Imer (apprentice, painter) arrived between 8 to 8:30am each morning and worked until 5pm (unless ahead of daily schedule). and middot; Kept work area clean and tidy during and at the end of each day. and middot; Focused; often working through lunch; and did not take breaks. and middot; Plumbing issues and challenges were dealt with by Marvin quickly and calmly. A “cup is half-full” kind of guy. At the time of this writing, there is one outstanding issue being address. Will update this review accordingly. and middot; Kept a working toilet each evening for condo tenant throughout the project. and middot; Dean, Marvin and Imer were extremely conscientious of their workmanship throughout. and middot; Highly communicative. Each evening, Dean/Marvin reviewed accomplishments for the day and plans for the next day. and middot; Dean demonstrated great memory abilities. Every pre-contract discussion points were remembered and placed in execution at the proper time. I was impressed! Completion and Wrap-Up: Project estimated for three weeks; completed one week ahead of schedule. Project outcome attributes: and middot; High quality work results. and middot; Bathroom and hallway vanity cabinets are beautiful! Dean took the time to stain cabinets three times to obtain the desired color. and middot; Prep-work and painting of bathroom, vanity and trims were extremely professional. and middot; Nice touches added: corner soap caddy included with cultured marble shower/tub wall paneling; and back of vanity wood cut-outs for plumbing under each cabinets. and middot; At project completion, both Marvin and Imer polished the wood cabinets, wiped down the cultured marble vanity tops, and windexed the mirrors."

"I met them at a home show in Auburn. The sales rep was on time and was not pushy at all. She went over the options and showed me the materials. She left me samples of the the counter top. She gave me a written estimate and had no problem at all letting me sleep on it. I think that was the most impressive part. No hard sell. I called her a couple of days later and faxed the signed contract. We made an appointment to make the templates for the counter tops. They were on time also. The work started on time. They do something very different with the counter tops. They put an overlay over your old counter top. It is a lot less messy and a lot cheaper. Thier bid was 3000.00-4000.00 cheaper than the other companies I talked to. I have very small kitchen so I would imagine they could really save money on a large kitchen. The only problem I experienced was they day they were finishing we had a very bad storm and they had to clean up and leave. There were a couple of minor details to finish up on and it took a little more effort than I like to get them back. I never doubted they would come back and they did finish everything. I had paid them the last payment and I was afraid but they made it right and I am completely satisfied. It was just a timing issue where they only needed about 45 minutes but weren't in the area and the same time I was so it took some effort. Everyone was very nice and it was a good experience. My kitchen looks great. They can do overlays in bathrooms and I plan to ask them about fixing up my shower."

"They did a terrific job. The cabinets look terrific and the product was almost without any chemical smell; it is very mild. They worked hard, they were punctual and it was a very good experience. What I ask for from people who provide services is that they give me a clear written estimate, that they are responsive when you call them, that they arrive promptly, that their work is good and that they have a good work ethic. This guy and his crew met it on all fronts. I can’t say there was any one thing that stood out. I hired them because they had other favorable ratings on Angie’s List. "

FAQs for cabinets refinish projects in Strawberry-valley, CA

To find the best cabinet refinishing expert for your project, start by researching local pros and reading reviews from previous customers. Reach out to a few contractors to discuss your cabinets' size, condition, and the look you're aiming for. Don't hesitate to ask for references or examples of their past work. Speaking with previous clients can give you valuable insights into the pro's workmanship and reliability.

When speaking with potential cabinet refinishing pros, consider asking them several questions to gauge their experience and professionalism. These questions can help you gauge the pro's experience and determine if they align with your needs.

 • Do you offer a guarantee on your work?

 • Can you create custom finishes or colors?

 • Do you have examples or samples of your past projects?

 • Are you able to match the finish to other cabinets in my home?

 • How long will the project take from start to finish?

Regular care will help maintain the beauty of your cabinets for years to come. To keep your refinished cabinets looking their best, follow these steps:

 • Use gentle cleaners: Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the finish. A simple mixture of warm water and mild dish soap works well.

 • Clean carefully: Instead of spraying solutions directly onto the cabinets, apply them to a soft microfiber cloth and wipe gently.

 • Protect from heat and moisture: Try to minimize exposure to excessive heat or moisture, which can affect the finish over time.

It's usually less costly to refinish cabinets than to replace them, depending on the cabinet condition. Refinishing cabinets cost an average of $3,114 while replacing cabinets is about $5,000 or more. When deciding to refinish or replace cabinets, consider several factors, including how old your cabinets are, your budget, and whether you need to complete any other renovation projects at the same time.

It may be worth resurfacing (also known as refacing) your cabinets if they’re in good shape but you’re interested in a different look. This is often less expensive than replacing cabinets outright and can allow you to update the look of your cabinets to reflect your kitchen’s current style without having to get rid of them entirely. The cost to reface cabinets is around $4,300 to $10,000, and you can hire a local cabinet refacing pro to handle this work.

Refinishing cabinets takes about two to three days to complete. The process begins with removing cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware, followed by cleaning, stripping, and sanding the surfaces. Any chips, stains, or splits are repaired before applying paint or stain. After applying the finish, the cabinets are reassembled, and the workspace is cleaned up, leaving your cabinets refreshed and renewed.
