"Mr. Ramos and his crew did a great job replacing our rambler's roof. From the initial estimate to the final stage, he was communicative, punctuate and the result was beautiful. The quote was extremely reasonable as well, and he was there personally for the whole installation to ensure everything gets done right. Our front patio is prone to cracks and he also made arrangements with the delivery company to make sure no risk or damage is done. He also pointed out we need to install additional ventilation to ensure roof life and we trust that he will do a great job on this as well."

"Oh, The Joys Of Home Ownership We purchased our home in 2014 and since then there have been a series of things demanding our attention. This last winter (2016-2017) there were torrential downpours which brought with them two small roof leaks. So when we received an offer from Angie’s List for a new roof from Premier Construction Services, we decided to pursue it. Mike emailed me the next day to make arrangements to come out and take a look at the roof and discuss the project. Right away I could tell he was very passionate about his work and that it was important we thoroughly understood the different materials and techniques used to properly install a roof. He gave us several options at various price levels so that we could decide what would work best for us. We went with the TruDefinition Duration Shingles that come with the Total Protection roofing system by Owens Corning. Since we are on Social Security, this investment stretched our budget to the max. We are thoroughly impressed with Mike and his team, their professionalism and commitment to satisfaction. Now that the job is completed, we are very glad we listened to Mike and took his expert advice. Mike and his crew finished the job (32 squares) in 3 days including tear-off and didn’t cut any corners; replacing all the flashing, ridge and roof vents. During the entire process you could tell that it was extremely important to Mike that we were completely satisfied with the work and was delighted to answer any questions or concerns we had. Personally, we think Premier describes Mike and his crew and the job they did. Well done!"

"I have a flat roof, so it had to be a torch-down, and I just couldn't get an ordinary roofer. So, I knew it would entail a lot. They were out here and gave me a bid, and they could do what I wanted, and for the lowest price. They came out and did three-fourths of it, and then they put all the edging around the outside of the roof. I had a problem about six months later, and it would howl when the wind blew. I called them and they were out the same day, and they knew what to do. They were just on their game. I thought that they would charge a lot of money because they had a full-page advertisement in the phone book, but they were the lowest."

Were totaly satisfied with our new roof. I had added a couple customized additions to the old roof which they surprisingly added to the new roof. Much appreciated! "I bought my first and only house in 2015. I noticed my roof had started leaking in my living/dining room this late winter/early spring. I spent lots of time researching roofing on the internet so that I would make a somewhat intelligent decision when it came to making such a huge financial decision on my house. Part of that research included BBB and Angie's List for the best companies. I picked four different companies and decided on GAFCO and I am thrilled that I did. I don't like to put people's names in reviews because I don't know if people want their name on the internet but the woman who came to inspect the roof was phenomenal. She climbed over and under and through everything. She was polite and professional and didn't make me feel stupid for asking questions. She pointed things out to me and explained why I would need new roof decking and other products. She gave me time to research the products and processes that I didn't know. When she learned that this was my first house and that I am pretty clueless about this stuff, she pointed out things that I should keep my eye on in the near future. And she did it without dropping, "I have a guy for that," or, "GAFCO can do that for you. Let me up sell you on this." She honestly cared and did it without any sort of financial gain for herself. She helped me through the paperwork part without being condescending or exasperated with my unending questions. She was always available to me via text. She was a great low pressure sales woman. Oh, and she was on time! Once the contract was signed, she let me know when the products would be delivered and work would start. They came out with a crane truck and stored as much of the product on the roof as possible. I think it was about 10 days after the contract went through and then the work started. The roofers were professional and I think it was a quick job (having never been through this process before). They tore off my old shingles all the way to the original shiplap. They placed new roof decking on a 40 square roof, all the layers, and new shingles and TPO for our deck and supply room in a week. They cleaned up after themselves when the job was done. When I had concerns about the roof, the owner came out to look at the roof himself. He clearly cares about his customers and his business. He listened to my concerns about the fascia and solved them. He too has been available by text for my concerns. I believe the gutters are contracted out but they were fast, quick, and professional. The gutters look nice and new. They were done in less than a day. All in all, it was a good experience. Sorry for the long post but I think they deserve it."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Sumner, WA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
