"I got 3 bids. Alex was the most knowledgeable and professional of the bunch in regards to drip systems, landscape lighting, and plants and plant care. One guy even over-pressurized my watering system while 'testing' it and it cause two major leaks and blew out the control valve. He just shrugged his shoulders, said these things happened, then offered to 'fix' everything for $3-400, then left, saying to call him if I wanted the work done. I called Alex, said he was our choice, and also asked him if he would come by, at his convenience, to check out my system and discuss what I wanted as far as regular maintenance in our yard. He came over that afternoon, helped me get things fixed up (the other guy had just messed up all the valves and the control valve just needed re-setting), and would not take any money for the repairs, saying he appreciated the opportunity to do business with me. Just a regular straight up business man with honesty and integrity. We look forward to Alex handling out yard for many years to come."

"<strong> </strong> I called him because he had a great review here on Angie's list. He was very friendly and came right over. When he gave me the estimate for trimming my (two year old) front and back yard <strong> </strong>baby trees and bushes <strong>, </strong>cut small grass patch in back and seed it with winter seed, we found out quickly we couldn't afford him. <br /> His first price was way too high for us so we said no, he was going to charge over two hundred dollars. A lot of folks charge way over that and we find it <strong>way</strong> too expensive for the work. Then he said he would work with us and brought the price down 50.00 it was still too high for us and I told him that in an effort to be straight forward and honest. Finally because I needed someone and am fairly new to the area I told him I had 150.00 to spend and to do what he could for that. I also asked him what he would charge to come over and just cut the grass and it was too high for us. <br /> He was here for six hours and did just the back yard including the grass and seeding. I found that paying $25.00 an hour for yard work is very reasonable. He seemed very overworked and sharp because of it, especially when I asked him to cut the shrubbery down and put it in bags for us. He was just tired and said he had squeezed us into his schedule. <br /> He wasn't happy when he left with the job, and I would use him again only if I were in a bind. It was just not a smooth transaction or a good match. I have since found someone who does the work for the price we can afford and is very happy with it as we were wanting. Most folks just charge way too much for it we believe. <br />"

"Dave came out to give us an estimate, which very reasonable. He also gave us recommendations on what needed to be trimmed and what could be put off. We appreciated his advice against aggressively trimming a large grapefruit tree, and suggesting what we could do ourselves. Dave also gave us good advice about properly watering the trees. The work crew arrived on time, as scheduled. They worked together efficiently as a team, demonstrating a great deal of knowledge. The only access to the trees was through the house and they were extremely careful not to make a mess. They also cleaned up everything outside. We gave them a "B" for quality rather than an "A" only because they didn't trim the crown as thoroughly as we had expected for the charge on that portion of the work. The "B" on responsiveness reflects some difficulty we had in getting the original estimate revised to reflect the actual work we wanted done. But all-in-all, we were extremely pleased with this tree service and we would use them again."

"I wish I called him first and did not waste my time with other companies that came back via google.  Great service and extremely knowledgeable.   I called around to various companies only to get a sense that they did not listen to what I needed.  I had a major wood sorrel weed issue that was taking over the yard.   <br /> I had a few companies come out to include AZ Weed King, Bern's Pest Control, Pest Management and another I cannot remember.  All of them had various pricing but I felt the most comfortable with Ray.   He came by my house, literally got on his hands and knees and surveyed the type of grass I have, type of weeds growing and the best way to approach getting rid of them. He knew what to spray to keep my grass healthy and green while killing the weeds.  He was careful not to kill my plants and other growth we wanted alive around the border of our grass.   <br /> He is just a nice person that is reasonable with his cost.  He is on time, friendly and very professional.  If you are not sure who to go with, at the very least call him and have him walk your property and give you a quote.  The other people I called did a Google earth image and quoted me on that.  They did not take the time to see what weeds I had and how to kill them effectively.   He also explains killing weeds can't be done overnight and it is a science.  It takes time to do it correctly and stated what I should expect within various time frames.  The owner also gives you his personal cell phone and ask you call him directly with any questions.   <br /> Other companies were more interested in setting up the appointment and how much they will charge.  I like the fact he came to the house for free and actually walked the yard and gave me a price based on my needs and issues that are unique to me and my yard.   <br /> Give him a ring, you will not be disappointed. <br />"

"<p>In September 2014, I purchased a Big Deal Termidor Termite Treatment and Prevention Package from Magic Pest Control for $745.  The young man who came to treat my house was very courteous and knowledgeable.  I have a post-tension foundation which made it a simpler process than other foundation types.  He treated the entire perimeter of my house by digging a trench around the house against the walls an filling with Termidor.  In the areas where there was pavement against the exterior wall, he drilled the necessary holes near the wall to apply the chemical.  There were signs of termites coming through my closest wall next to my shower.  He cleaned it up and filled the pin holes.  Only time can tell whether a treatment has been effective, and it has been nearly two years now, and I have not seen any signs of termites.  I am very pleased with the work that Magic Pest Control performed on my house.   I especially like their 10-year warranty which is transferrable.  Any termite company that is worth their salt will have a 10-year warranty.  If they don’t have a 10-year warranty, run away.  </p> <p> Two months ago, my brother found termites in his home.  I recommended Magic Pest Control and he, too, purchased a Big Deal Termidor Termite Treatment and Prevention Package from Magic Pest Control for $699.  They did the same for his house as they did for mine.  In addition, because my brother’s house has a perimeter foundation with slab, they treated both sides of the south foundation wall from the outside by drilling at an angle from the outside to under the house.  They did this only on the south wall where the termites were found.  They said that they would do the same for the other walls if termites were found there at a later date, since there is a 10-year warranty.  My brother is happy with the work they did for his house.</p> <p> About the same time, I purchased the same Big Deal from Magic Pest Control for my mother who had been having termite problems off and on for about 4 years while using a different termite company called Arizona’s Best Choice, which I prefer to call “Arizona’s Worst Choice” and which I will abbreviate to AWC.  AWC performed an initial treatment a few years ago, and since then we had to call them back to her house about 5 more times to address more termite mud tunnels that kept appearing in her house.  My mother has a degenerative eye disease and so she is not able to see the termite mud tunnels.  But I would find them when I go to visit her.  Among the many mud tracks I found throughout her house, one day, I found one that was 16 inches long hanging from her ceiling near her refrigerator.  And another one about 10 inches long hanging from the wall on the other side of the master bath tub.   On a couple of different occasions when we called AWC to come and address more termites, we asked them to use Termidor instead of the Altriset chemical that they were using which was clearly not working.  But they refused.  They insisted on using Altriset.  On their last visit to my mother’s house, I complained to the young man from AWC about them not using Termidor and he said to me “All the chemicals are the same” which I knew was not true.  Clearly they are not the same (and especially if a chemical gets watered down).  Altriset costs only a few dollars for a tank while Termidor costs about $180 to fill a tank.  You get what you pay for.  Apparently, AWC was only concerned about their bottom line and not their customer’s home.  For 4 years, termites were eating away at my mother’s house while AWC was giving my mother a false sense of security.  I finally said enough is enough.  We fired AWC and hired Magic Pest Control who uses Termidor for termite extermination.  Magic Pest Control did an awesome job.  Nelson, the owner, sent a whole team of great guys to do the work.  Like the other two houses, they dug a trench around my mother’s house against the exterior walls.  My mother’s house has a perimeter foundation with slab.  So, Magic Pest Control treated both sides of the foundation wall from the outside (whereas AWC only treated the outside of the foundation wall).  To treat the inside of the foundation wall without drilling through tile and laminate flooring, they drilled at an angle from the outside.  They did this around the entire house.  Under the kitchen sink and in the cupboards in the garage, they had to drill out circles in the bottom of the cupboards (which they later replaced) so that they could gain access to the termites.  This is something that AWC did not do.  In fact, AWC drilled into the garage floor in <b><i>front</i></b> of the cupboards which was useless because it did not reach the termites in the wall, which is why the termites made an appearance two times from the ceiling above that wall both inside the living room and the garage.   I also found that there was a section in the additional RV garage that AWC did not even treat because there were shelves there.   I removed the items from the shelves and the guys from Magic Pest Control moved the shelves away from the wall.  Needless to say, we found another termite mud track behind the shelves.  The guys from Magic Pest Control treated that section along with the rest of the RV garage and then moved the shelves back.  They also treated every area inside the house where the termites had appeared, such as behind and above the refrigerator, under the kitchen sink, and the Master bedroom bathtub.  My mother’s house is 3091 sq. ft. plus the RV garage, so there was some extra charge for the extra footage which is acceptable.  The total price is outstanding considering all the hard work they did.  We have also decided to hire Magic Pest Control for the regular monthly pest treatments. We are very pleased with their work and recommend them to anyone.</p> <br> <br> <br> <br>"

"THE REP WAS ON TIME AND CALLED AHEAD TO GET DIRECTIONS. HOWEVER, WE WERE VERY UNSATISFIED WITH THE QUOTE THEY GAVE. IT WAS RIDICULOUSLY UNREASONABLE. FOR OUR MODEST FRONT YARD THEY WANTED TO INSTALL 33 SPRINKLER HEADS, 4 VALVES, NEW PLUMBING TO THE WATER SOURCE, ETC, ALL FOR OVER $2,800. THIS IS A LOT OF MONEY TO SPEND TO WATER A LAWN, ESPECIALLY FOR THE SIZE (ABOUT 800 SF)."
