"Our old sprinkler system had sprung several leaks and needed to be replaced. I called Gabriels Gardens, was told that he would be here at noon the next day and he showed up at 11:55.

We discussed the needed repairs, agreed upon a price and I was told that they would start the following Monday at 9:00. The workers showed up at 8:30 and got right to work digging up what turned out to be about 4 old systems. They added a couple of sprinkler heads to give the yard complete coverage, uncovered a couple of others I didn't even know we had and added a zone to the system to make it more effective at no additional cost.

After the work was finished the crew did a wonderful job of cleaning up, including a couple of areas that weren't their mess. They topped it all off by trimming a couple of bushes and seeding some bare patches in the yard.

I signed up for a twice a year maintenance program they offer and in the spring I plan to have them back to re-seed the front yard.

This company is fast, professional, friendly and efficient. In addition to sprinkler systems they offer a wide variety of landscaping and home maintenance services ."

"It was a little more than anticipated, but the yard became really overgrown by the time I finished closing on the house so they had quite a bit of work to do. Will be calling them again once I get ready to change the existing landscaping."

"So awesome! If it ever got to a point where I needed to hire someone to manage my lawn I would hire them in a heart beat! They show up on time and stay until the job is done. The owner stands behind his word; If he says he will do something and at a price he quoted; he does it. Communication between me and Bells Garden was super convenient. I'd email him back and forth, responded with a clear precise expectation and a timely manner."

FAQs for lawn care aeration projects in Sweet Home, OR

Aeration is the best way to keep your lawn healthy and vibrant. Annual aeration makes your lawn more breathable and helps nutrients reach the roots, improving water absorption and reducing puddles where pests might breed. However, timing matters. It's best to avoid aerating during droughts, extreme heat, or if your lawn is battling weeds. A local pro can help you determine the ideal time for your yard.

Most lawns benefit from annual aeration to keep them healthy and thriving. If your lawn has a lot of thatch buildup—more than half an inch—you might need to aerate twice a year for a couple of years to get it under control. But if your soil isn't compacted and there's minimal thatch, you might be able to skip a year.

When you hire a professional lawn care company, a standard 10,000-square-foot lawn takes about 30 minutes to aerate. Uneven, sloped, or especially large lawns can take significantly more time. So, depending on your lawn's size and condition, the process can take anywhere from half an hour to several hours.

The best time to aerate your lawn is during the spring or fall when your grass is actively growing and the soil has enough moisture. Aerating once in the spring and once in the fall yields the best results. Avoid aerating when your lawn is dormant or right after heavy rain when the soil is too wet—that can make aeration less effective.

Even if your lawn looks healthy, aeration can still be beneficial. If you have good growth, proper drainage, and little thatch, you might not need to aerate right away. Regular aeration helps water and nutrients reach the roots, keeping your lawn strong over time. Keep an eye on your lawn's condition to decide when it might need aeration.
