"I can't thank them enough! We have 8 kids and had a clogged sewer line. They were here within 3 hours on a Monday morning and had it taken care of in less than an hour. Very polite and professional crew. We will use them again for any plumbing issues. God bless!"

"Michael, the owner of MNW Construction, was awesome to work with. This bathroom remodel had special circumstances around it for a disabled family member and Mike took all factors into consideration. He listened to our needs, envisioned a functional design, picked out all materials, fixtures, colors, while working well within our set budget. Mike is extremely talented, educated and passionate about his trade and is a hard working business owner. He and his crew are great to work with and take pride in their work. Highly recommend!"

"This was written by a family member: <br /> I left them a message and they got back to me the same day.  I did not realize until I talked to them that they only handle drainage problems.  They gave me the number of a plumber who could take care of my plumbing problems.  (Unfortunately, that plumber never got back to me.) <br />"

"I didn't actually hire Bill, and Bud. They were hired by my general contractor to perform the work on my accessible bathroom. This was the best decision my contractor made. <br /> The project was quite technical because the old plumbing had to be operational until all the new fixtures were installed and plumbed in to the new addition. At some point both the old and new plumbing were operational at the same time. <br /> After they removed the all the old plumbing from the basement the new plumbing looked like artwork! I never knew plumbing was suppose to look that nice! <br /> Bill and Bud were very professional, prompt, and clean. <br />"

"Recently had my sewer back up into my basement . Received immediate attention from the people at Charles beginning with Nikki who immediately relayed my concerns to the Plumbing department. Dave Picarel immediately scheduled a plumber to address the situation . Plumber Paul Delledera and his assistant Shawn showed up promptly and got to work immediately to solve my issue . Great work done by all the people I mentioned and at a very reasonable price. Thank you folks at Charles . I won’t be hesitant to call again or recommend you to those in need ."

"How did it go? Snowiest day of the winter and they were here on time. Perhaps it was the weather but they were both kind of grouchy. Demanded to see livingroom ceiling before fixing the bathroom tap which was my main concern as it had been running continuously for several days and it took, not counting the weekend, 3 business days for them to get here following my call on a friday afternoon once I discovered that DIY was not going to work for me this time.  I will probably see this reflected in my next water bill. He did diagnose the ceiling leak, shower door problems, but since I had already caulked the tub myself (love Ace Hardware) and put in a new shower curtain liner, the ceiling is drying up nicely. However he told me that I would probably have to have a major bathroom renovation complete with knocking down walls, the ceiling, all the bathroom fixtures and replacing the old lead pipes and putting in a sewer gas trap and that NOW was the best time to do it. Frankly he scared me to death. Felt pressured to do it NOW. I have another bathroom, same pipes, same amount of use over the years, no problems. So now, I am wondering if this was a sales pitch for work or ? I am happy the tap was fixed. I am happy the work I did has fixed the ceiling leak apparently. But I will be looking for a second opinion for the renovation work in future. <br />"

"Brian did a great job on remodeling my mothers home. We had her home outfitted so she could live on the main floor. I live out of state and he made the process so easy for us. He had good recommendations for products. Installed main floor laundry, remolded a gutted bathroom, made it handicap accessible, installed new kitchen countertops and doors, updated the fuse box and sooooo much more. He and his team are very clean and neat and were very considerate of my elderly mother. They called her mom and she loved that. I would definitely hire Brian and his team again"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Syracuse, NY

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
