He told me that I don't need anything done for the tree because it's fine which is very commendable. A lot of people would say they would do that and would cost me extra dollars."

"Unfortunately the work did not go well.  McCabe's field crews and the management team did not communicate well and our landscaping project suffered due to that lack of communication as well as inadequate volume of materials such as decomposed granite, soil amendments, mulch and sand. <br /> While others have had good experiences with McCabe's Nursery, we did not have a good experience.  Our project was not the full scope of what we wanted to accomplish due to our belief that a smaller project is a good way to make sure the contractor is a good match before we move to a full blown project.  Unfortunately McCabe's Nursery and Landscaping  workmanship and installation fell far short of our expectations. <br /> <br />"

"Part of the prep work required replacing a 30 foot section of 2 inch drain line with a 3 inch line. The original pipe passed under a block wall. Unfortunately, rather then install the line before pouring the footing or boring through it, the pipe went down under the footing and back up again. A very bad design. It turned out the contractor had a very difficult time punching the 3 inch pipe under the footing. Several times he suggested we just use the existing 2 inch line. Not a good idea. All the gutter downspouts and garden/patio drains were connected to the drain. After much work and the installation of a catch basin the new pipe was installed. The first problem I ran into while installing the irrigation was the fact that a significant number of roots had not been removed. One reason was that they brought in a very large rototiller which was unable to effectively handle the smaller areas. I rate the prep work as fair to poor. The cost for this stage (clean-up and prep) was about a third of the total cost. After, planting mulch was put down over the area. It was not evenly done as the depth varied from about half an inch to nearly three inches. I had an opportunity to inspect the plants prior to delivery but did not have the time to do so. Several of the plants already suffered from disease. The roses got powdery mildew within a week after planting. I was also disappointed that the contractor just planted the plants and trees without doing some necessary shaping and removing broken branches. My advice if one uses this contractor is to make sure you supervise very carefully."

"Overall, he did a nice job as far as design and implementing. We've had compliments from neighbors on how pretty our yards look. Our biggest problem with him (and, part of it is our fault for letting it happen) is that we didn't get an itemized statement indicating the products that would be used and the dollar amount for each category. One of the products he used a lot of is mulch, which was installed all around the grass areas, flower beds. It was also put on a hill behind our home, which we were definitely overcharged for. This is the most disgusting mulch I've ever seen used around a home. Looked like something you'd see in a forest....large chunks of tree limbs, pieces of all sorts of debris, including iron springs. He admitted it was bad and had his guys try to clean it up somewhat, but it still looked terrible. He never offered to take it out and replace it with something more appropriate. We have no idea what this ugly mess cost us since we had no itemized bill. Our suggestion for anyone thinking about using Trimendous Treesis that they will be okay as long as they have an itemized statement with pricing, and know EXACTLY what products will be used, and that it's to their liking. We has put our COMPLETE trust in him, but, unfortunately, it didn't work out well for us. <br />"
