"Glen has been my go-to plaster repair expert for more than 15 years. His work is always top quality. I have seen him fix drywall in very tricky locations on small and extensive projects. He is reliable, punctual and reasonably priced. I recommend him without reservation. "

"My wife and I recently had a lot of plumbing work done in our 1962 home. The work required opening our plaster walls and ceilings at several locations. Hammers were used and major damage was done. Richard’s crew was able to repair all the openings to look like the original plasterwork. No one would ever know there had been major damage. Following the repair work, Richard’s crew remove the plaster “popcorn” from our ceilings. This “popcorn” was actual plaster, not the soft type installed over drywall in the 1970s. After removing the “popcorn”, a beautiful pattern commonly called “clouds” was added to provide a very modern look to our ceilings. A second crew then came in to paint the ceilings. We are very pleased with the results and have received a lot of great comments from our friends about the quality of the work. We have been able to make several referrals. All the work was done as requested and in a very timely manner. They were very careful to cover all surrounding areas to prevent any damage and they did a great job cleaning up afterward. All their work is exceptional, and the cost was very reasonable. We have used System One three times previously going back almost twenty years and their work has always been of very high quality. Richard and his people are great to work with and we highly recommend them."

"Sam did a great job on all the repair items on my list except one and that one was to be subcontracted to a painter he knew. (I was supposed to get an estimate on that job a couple of days after Sam finished the initial work and I never heard back from either of them!). My only critique was that he didn't stay in contact with me, and before he started I had to call him and ask if he still wanted the job. I do want to reiterate that the quality of Sam's work was excellent, the work was completed quickly, the cost was very fair, clean-up was good and he was easy to work with. I would recommend him. Elli D."

"I was in a jam, having to repair a fence as part of conditions for the sale of my home. Todd was able to work me into his schedule in short order, and figured out a great way to repair the fence. Totally satisfied, as is the buyer of my home."

FAQs for plaster repair projects in Thousand Oaks, CA

Yes, crumbling plaster poses a safety hazard. Crumbling plaster overhead can drop heavy pieces that injure anyone below. The risk increases if the material contains older additives, such as asbestos or lead-based paint, which can become airborne when the surface is disturbed. Have a qualified pro test and repair deteriorating areas quickly to keep your family—and pets—safe.

Ceiling plaster repairs require a lighter touch than wall repairs. Plaster repair professionals apply thinner coats of plaster to ceilings to reduce weight and smooth the surface, which helps prevent future sagging. Wall repairs can handle extra texture and additional layers without risking structural strain. A plaster repair pro will have the expertise to determine the best technique for your problem area.
