"<p>When I turned on the breaker for the water heater, the Main Circuit Panel started arcing. At that point, turning the water heater back off off did not resolve the problem, still arcing, so I had to cut the main breaker to the house. I called A-Team, who have done good work for me before, and they interrupted their planned evening out, came over promptly, identified and corrected the problem within 1/2 hour. Without their attention and service, we would have lost our evening, the food in the freezer and refrigerator and had to hang around the following day (Saturday) to wait for someone to do the repair. </p> <p><br /></p> <p>I have had neighbors tell me that the price of $185 is high for the time they spent on the job, but I disagree. They answered my call after hours and came right out. "<p>My first appointment was to discuss a list of services needed, provide a cost estimate, and perform initial work.  Services are provided at a flat rate of $75 an hour no matter what type of electrical work.  Do to time constraints, he could only advise me on the work to be performed and do the first increment of work.  The electrician seemed reluctant to do some work and was less than clear on a description of what would have to be done to add lighting in the kitchen.  Under counter lighting has yet to be scheduled due to ambiguity in the description of work.</p> <p>The kitchen overhead lighting was replaced efficiently without any problem.  He installed a new fixture in the ceiling and had to open the wall over the window to pull a wire up for a pendant over the sink.  Both went very well and were completed in a reasonable amount of time.</p> <p>Based on the electricians feedback, my carport lighting ballast was out and it would be cheaper to buy new fixtures then replace a ballast due to time.  I purchased the new fixtures the next day but it took three call backs over multiple days to get him back to install the lighting.  The install did go well once he was able to squeeze me in but again he was very rushed.  Fixing the utility room light seemed to be a rush job.  He had to redo the work because the first fix did not correct the problem and in the rush a fluorescent was broken.  He replaced it at no cost but it really seemed to be commitment of time that is the obstacle.<br /> <br /></p> <br />"
