They are rated on Angie's List. I have a yearly plan. I think they are pretty good. Employees work for them and sometimes I wonder how well they spray the lawn as far as do they really spray properly over all the areas, in that sense.

"We really like this company. We use to use another big company and okeena does a much more thorough job. The technician alex was very thorough and really seemed to care about our issues & he represented okeena well. We also received wasp control as well as yearly termite inspection. We highly recommend this company ."

"Greg Bell, the owner, is an extremely nice gentleman -- BUT it took me a month to get him to meet me at my house and discuss the work I needed done.  I had paid for a special Angie's List deal on March 28:  "$99 for up to 3 Hours of Professional Lawn and Yard Work Service!"
For starters, I emailed the company at the address given on the Angie's List online order summary/invoice.  I received a reply a few days later telling me that the person on the receiving end of my message "no longer worked" for the company.  So I called the contact phone number on the same invoice.  A woman named Darlene answered, and seemed in a big hurry to get off the phone.  She gave me a different phone number after I told her why I was calling.
When I finally reached Greg Bell, we agreed to meet at my home a couple of days later, at 5:30 p.m.  I was there on time after I left my office; Greg was a complete no-show.  I called again a day or two after that, and he apologized.  He explained that the many days of heavy rain had backed up his work schedule, and on top of that, he was down to two work crews. He said he used to have five crews, but had a difficult time finding good employees.  I'm a patient person, but this was beginning to annoy me.
It took me another call or two before finally meeting on Thursday, May 23, to discuss the work needed in my yard.  During that brief visit, Greg was, again, very apologetic about the delays.  He assured me that he would do the work that weekend and I wouldn't need to be home.  No one called or showed up Saturday, Sunday, or Monday (which was Memorial Day, so that didn't really surprise me, even though I did see other yard crews working in my neighborhood).
Finally on Tuesday morning May 28, Greg called me at work and said they were about to tackle my backyard.  When I got home that evening, yes -- the yard was clean, mowed, and tidy.

"They do an spectacular job. They do an excellent job.  We have had so many comments about how pretty the yard looks.  We had no grass in the yard at all and now it looks like carpet grass."

FAQs for lawn care aeration projects in Tipton, TN

Aeration is the best way to keep your lawn healthy and vibrant. Annual aeration makes your lawn more breathable and helps nutrients reach the roots, improving water absorption and reducing puddles where pests might breed. However, timing matters. It's best to avoid aerating during droughts, extreme heat, or if your lawn is battling weeds. A local pro can help you determine the ideal time for your yard.

Most lawns benefit from annual aeration to keep them healthy and thriving. If your lawn has a lot of thatch buildup—more than half an inch—you might need to aerate twice a year for a couple of years to get it under control. But if your soil isn't compacted and there's minimal thatch, you might be able to skip a year.

When you hire a professional lawn care company, a standard 10,000-square-foot lawn takes about 30 minutes to aerate. Uneven, sloped, or especially large lawns can take significantly more time. So, depending on your lawn's size and condition, the process can take anywhere from half an hour to several hours.

The best time to aerate your lawn is during the spring or fall when your grass is actively growing and the soil has enough moisture. Aerating once in the spring and once in the fall yields the best results. Avoid aerating when your lawn is dormant or right after heavy rain when the soil is too wet—that can make aeration less effective.

Even if your lawn looks healthy, aeration can still be beneficial. If you have good growth, proper drainage, and little thatch, you might not need to aerate right away. Regular aeration helps water and nutrients reach the roots, keeping your lawn strong over time. Keep an eye on your lawn's condition to decide when it might need aeration.
