"Jimmy was able to schedule me the same day and came in less than 2 hours. Once arrived, he checked and identified the issues and got it fixed. In addition, he installed a new outlet as well as disconnected a device per my request. Everything was done is a very professional manner. Will hire B & H Electric again."

"Although he had some unusual issues with the new generation Ring Doorbell cameras, everything else went smoothly. The house has 12 volt transformer supplying the two doorbells and it had to be upgraded to 24 volts to work with the new Ring doorbells. We found we also had to upgrade the interior doorbell. Although it took longer with the unplanned issues, the pricing was transparent and reasonable. All of the other electrical circuits, outlets, switch, floodlights, porch and patio lights, and replacing a 12 volt transformer for garden lights were perfect.."

"Jordan was willing to tackle the oddball request of troubleshooting the Christmas tree lights/tree trunk wiring on a Balsam Hill Christmas tree. I’ve had three Balsam Hill Christmas trees with lighting issues and wasn’t going to spend the money again on a tree with “crappy” lights/wiring. I decided to find an electrician who was willing and able to take on the task. Jordan identified the issue and came up with a workaround so that all tree sections received the power needed to run the lights. He was very knowledgeable and professional. If I have any other electrical needs, I would call him again."

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Tomball, TX

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
