"Feria did an excellent job from beginning to end. They immediately came to look at our project and provided an estimate right away. The crew was very punctual, arriving and leaving at the same time every day and they always left the jobsite clean and orderly. They worked on our house during one of the hottest weeks this summer and nothing slowed them down or affected their pleasant attitudes. In addition, paint was only found where it was supposed to be! There was excellent communication throughout the project. When we compared punch lists, they were already tracking everything I found and then some. The final walkthrough was very thorough and only then was a check written. In home repair you definitely get what you pay for. Going for bottom line price, the homeowner usually pays twice - once for a substandard job and once for the effort involved in hassling over all the little details. We definitely got more than we paid for on this project - a rare result. When it comes time to paint the interior, I will be calling Feria with only one question: "When can you start?""

"Kitchen and bathroom vanity painting: Sr. Martinez spent over 2 days meticulously covering everything that wasn't supposed to be painted with paper and/or plastic. I had other estimates that said they would roll/brush the cabinets, but for $$$ extra they could spray them. Fernando sprayed them at a cost less than some brush/roll estimates I got. The cabinets were sanded, got two coats of oil primer, and then the next day two coats of the finish paint. They dried overnight and then the hardware was attached and the doors and drawers installed. He even came out on Saturday and Sunday to complete the job. I highly recommend!"

"Amazing! We had used Curtis before for painting projects but never for just caulking. He is just as gifted with a caulk gun as he is with a paint brush. He arrived right on time and after I gave him a tour of the house and what I wanted done, he went right to work. Every caulk bead was as even and as straight as I've ever seen. He really is gifted. Curtis even noticed a couple of areas that I had missed and he made some suggestions to get a better outcome ad he did it all for the already agreed upon price. Curtis is a very nice man and nice to have around while he works. He is easy to work with and works hard to make sure you're happy with his work- which is easy to do since he does such a great job anyway. He also cleans up after himself. I have never had to go behind him after he leaves to clean up. He has already done everything that needed to be done. We will be doing some painting work on the trim of our brick house this summer and we'll be calling Curtis to help us with that. If you have any questions about his specials give him a call. "David was extremely responsive, professional, and an all-around gentleman throughout this multi-day project.... A very hard worker and a humble soul to match. Coming in at a competitive rate under two other quoted estimates, the money spent on this project was well worth it. On one of the final days of the project when he was supposed to come out and begin the last leg to finish up, I received a call from an extremely apologetic David, who had been admitted into the hospital with a severe malady ... He was so concerned about the project and his inability to be there that day to finish it up, that he felt compelled to call us from his hospital bed to let us know he would be delayed but that he WOULD be there to complete the job as soon as he was released and physically able to come out.... Within less than a week, he was back on his feet and we were his first call to come out and complete the job. I don't know anyone else that would have shown as much concern or gone to as great a length to keep us informed about such matters and its impact on a contracted drywall + paint job. Of course, we told him that our project could wait and that his well-being was far more important... When he came out, we were genuinely just so glad to see him doing so well. Would definitely recommend David for any type of work like this again! Good work and great guy!"

"I had Susan paint most of our house just before we moved in. She was responsive and got back to me fairly quickly. Her crew was made up of family members and they were respectful to my family and of our home. PRICE. There was some confusion on the cost of the project. Based on our phone conversations and the statement "I charge $22-$25 per hour", my understanding was that I was going to be charged by the hour at or close to the Angie's List "$1765 for 80 Hours" rate (approximately $22 per hour). I took the estimate to be a "not to exceed" price based on pictures and measurements that I texted to Susan. Instead, Susan had quoted it as a lump sum bid that turned out to be over double the Angies's List price after all the hours were tallied up. This is something that I should have paid closer attention to prior to the start of the job as the estimate was written as a lump sum. We did some negotiation on price and were able to come to an agreement. Overall, I was not happy with the price but accept that as my mistake. QUALITY. The quality of the job was adequate but not outstanding. Most outlet and switch cover plates weren't removed for cutting in and of the ones that were removed, they were not all replaced. Several areas needed touching up after the job and there were numerous paint drips on trim and a few on the floor from the cutting in. Drop cloth usage was an issue the first day and I ended up scraping paint splatter off of the hardwood floor for an hour or so that evening. I mentioned this at the beginning of the second day and after that it was slightly better but still a problem. Unfortunately, I have spent quite a lot of time on my hands and knees scraping paint off the floor with my fingernail and am still finding "roller splatter" after a month (see attached picture). RESPONSIVENESS. Good PUNCTUALITY. Adequate PROFESSIONALISM. Good Overall, Susan was friendly, easy to work with, and had good style suggestions that we decided to use. Some coordination was necessary between the painting, carpet cleaning, and movers. This did not appear to be a problem."

"Overall, I graded the job a C because the finished product is a C.

 The leader of the crew that did the work told me that I had purchased two men for 6-8 hours, and that he was contracted by Cobalt to perform the work, that he did not work for Cobalt.   There was not mention of 6-8 hours in the posting, and I was immediately feeling uncomfortable about what exactly I had purchased.  I bought a crew of "painters", not the support and oversight of a professional painting company.
We had scheduled the work a week in advance, and the day of the job, there was rain in the forecast.  I suggested we re-schedule, but was told that he was booked for at least the next week, and that it was not raining now, and "why don't we get started."

In advance, I was told to get a gallon of paint, and a gallon of thinner.   I assumed the paint would be brushed or rolled.   Was not told that I would also need to provide masking suppliers and several gallons paint.  I did buy a few drop clothes, and had a few rolls of masking tape, but was not prepared for masking to spray.  So, let the painters use 6 mil poly to mask, and had a giant amount of trash in front of my house when done.  (Could have been neatly rolled up, but that would have taken extra time, and was made worse because one of the painters lost his phone and thought it might be in side the plastic wrap).

The rain came about 1/3 of the way through the paining.  They came back the next day to finish, and "sort of" addressed water issues by repainting.  There was a serious hurry to get done and on to the next job, so there were a lot of missed spots.  There should have been two coats applied.  They came back a few weeks later to repaint the missed spots, and the job is complete.  The quality is okay, but well below the original paint job, and would definitely not impress anyone. The ironic part.. I had a quote to have the work done, for $50 less than the Angie's list deal.   I thought that I would get more for my 16 hours of work, but did not.  I did not like the pay before the work is done and hope it gets done right."
