"We bought and paid for a tree, and found out they sold it to someone else when we called to schedule delivery!-- We purchased a tree for a special occasion and paid for the tree and delivery up front. However, when we called to schedule delivery and planting, we were informed that Merrified had put our tree back out on the lot and sold it to someone else! Yes, we paid up front, saw them tag the tree with our name, were told they would hold it for us and take good care of it, and had talked to the staff in detail about the delivery timeframe which was even written on the receipt and circled. This was particularly disappointing because we had spent hours looking through the trees and had finally found the one that we wanted. Merrifield took our hand-selected tree that we had already purchased, and then sold it again to someone else without even the courtesy of a phone call or contacting us. During this ordeal, we had a glimmer of hope when they said they had found “our tree”! But this was soon to be squashed as they had just picked another tree and stuck our name on it. No, Merrified: Each tree is unique and has its own character, and you can’t sell the same tree to multiple people and then just replace them with another tree that happens to still be on the lot. We picked Merrifield because we thought we would get a great product and professional service. Unfortunately, Merrifield does have the premium prices, but is severely lacking when it comes to customer service. We won’t be returning to Merrifield after this unnecessary and extremely disappointing experience."

"The whorkers who did all of the work were fantastic. They took great care to ensure that their truck would not damage water and sewer lines running across our front yard. The job was to do a "major" trim on the giant, and magnificent, magnolia tree that graces our front yard. They also removed two, approximately 10-foot-tall stumps of two previously murdered elm trees. Terribly efficient crew. Not one of them dillied or dallied during the job. And then the cleanup was amazing. The amount of debris was enough, once ground up, to totally fill their detritus truck. And the cleanup of the entire front yard, plus a bit of our side yard was thorough. The job lasted approximately 3.5 hours, which in itself is evidence of the professionalism of the team. In conclusion, would not hesitate to call Davey Tree next time we determine a need for one or more of the many trees on our property. "
