"OOL came, quoted, and executed professionally and personably. The actual repair came out to less than the quote. As a courtesy, they rearranged loads to tune the system load for LEDs, rather than halogens. We will definitely use them again."

"We are beyond pleased with the work done for us by Nifelle Design.  I have worked with other designers in the past, and the results were really not that great. In contrast, Jennifer and Kristina are true professionals.  They helped us re-design our family room space, which involved removing our fireplace and mantel, and building a new fireplace and mantel on a smaller scale so that we could mount a TV on the wall above.  They helped us discover our own sense of style, and listened carefully to us regarding how we wanted to use the space.  The results are stunning; the room has twice the seating room now, the fabrics are rich and carefully coordinated, and the furniture was selected with comfort in mind.  Jennifer selected accessories not only by finding new ones, but also by looking at things we already owned.  In addition, she helped us find photographs that had meaning for us, and had them framed to become a part of the design.   <br /> Nifelle Design made the details of the project easy.  Every single person involved (with the construction of the new fireplace, with hanging new lighting and artwork, and with delivery of furniture), was on time, respectful of our property, and a joy to work with. Billing was quite reasonable and straightforward. No detail is too small to escape their attention--they discovered a missing screw on one of our new counter stools in the kitchen, and made sure we were provided with one! <br /> I have intentionally left out the cost of service.  One of the advantages of working with Nifelle Design is that they allowed us to choose pieces from a variety of options at all price points, so the entire cost of what was selected for us was based on how much we were willing to spend. <br /> I will be recommending Nifelle Design to all of my friends, and I feel truly fortunate to have found them.  We are delighted with everything they have done for us. <br />"

"We have been working with Drake's 7 Dee's Landscaping since late last summer (2013), when we requested an assessment on our backyard that is not only large and awkward shaped, but also is very steep - there were no plants to speak of on the property - mainly just a lot of slippery mud.  Drew gave us his assessment during our first visit right on the spot, but he then, with our permission, he provided us with a landscaping plan along with a survey assessment of the grade (small fee).  Then, this spring (2014), we gave the go ahead for them to proceed.  Drew worked with us to make sure to work with our desired outcome within the design, including my favorite plants and helped us to select the retaining wall and patio materials. <br /> The project was expected to take 6-8 weeks, and they are right on schedule.  I expect them to be finishing up this week!  The 4 man crew has been extremely professional, conscious of us and the neighbors, and willing to work with us on any modifications.  They have been at the job site around 8am M-F and usually leave around 3:30 or so.  All the crew members work extremely hard - I never once saw them doing anything but working hard.  And they clean up after themselves ... all the tools/equipment put away, excess dirt cleaned up out of the driveway and street as needed, and no garbage is left behind -every single day.  The crew is knowledgeable and willing to answer our questions and offer us any options they might see. <br /> Drew checked in with us and with his crew frequently to make certain everything was staying on track.  There was a level of comfort with this large project that I didn't expect.  We definitely are pleased with the quality of the final product, and with the level of professionalism and expertise that they have provided through this process.  We now have a fully landscaped yard with the entire property being usable and beautiful - friendly to birds, bees, backyard critters, and of course people too!  We are already enjoying. <br /> Thank you, Drew, Enrique, and your crew!  We appreciate it! <br />"

"Patrick of Aegis Cleaning Services arrived on time and worked diligently cleaning all of my exterior windows, the exterior and interior of my four sliding doors and the tall windows above one of the sliding doors, and the interior windows of my choice (a few of my interior windows are blocked by desks and glass shelves full of knickknacks and I prefer to clean those.) <br /> Patrick cleaned the glass perfectly, removing spider cocoons and leaving no smears; he wiped the window sills clean; and removed and scrubbed window screens, then told me the best way for me to clean my screens in the future. He was extremely neat, and considerate of my tile floor when he had to use a ladder on them. My home is now full of light and I love it!  This is the first time I have used a window washing service instead of cleaning them myself, and I'm sold on using Aegis and Patrick again from now on. <br />"

"The cost of the service I noted is a guess. I cannot find my invoice, but I think it was around $800. Summit Painting is great. The most recent job they did for me was to paint all of my window trim and some new siding after I had new windows installed. I have used them multiple times and referred them to many friends. Their pricing is competitive with other painting companies, but I think Summit always goes the extra mile. I have had them paint my previous house inside and out. When they painted the exterior, they pressure washed the exterior before painting, removed all old caulk and recaulked. I even had some rotten wood around a window that was brought to my attention and then replaced for me before painting. They do good work and don't leave messes behind. They have a project manager that will check in on the project. I would recommend these folks hands down. <br />"

FAQs for holiday lighting add or remove projects in Vernonia, OR

If climbing ladders or handling wiring isn’t in your comfort zone, hire a pro. Look for installers who post clear per-foot or hourly rates, carry insurance, and have solid reviews. Comparing at least three quotes helps you spot fair pricing without sacrificing safety. Skipping credentials to save a few dollars can cost you far more in repairs, so pick a qualified team and enjoy a safe, eye-catching display.

Yes, booking between February and September often scores lower rates because demand is light and pros have open calendars. You might even negotiate a discount package that includes removal or storage. If the budget is tight, ask whether a handyperson or an off-season permanent-light install makes sense for your home and timeline.

Determining the number of holiday lights for your house depends on your home’s size and specific decorative vision. Your project requires 10 to 20 light strands for a basic exterior display, with 100 lights allocated for eaves and an additional 10 to 20 bulbs for each awning.

For trees and substantial shrubs, allocate five to 10 strands per unit to achieve complete and balanced illumination across your property.

Tipping isn’t mandatory, but it’s a nice way to thank your installer for a job well done. Most homeowners offer 10% to 20% of the total bill or round up to an even figure if the crew exceeds expectations. A small extra goes a long way toward showing appreciation—and may help you snag priority booking next season.

Yes, you can install holiday lights yourself if your property layout is straightforward and your electrical system is secure. Homeowners who are confident in their ability to safely handle wiring and use proper equipment can save money with a DIY approach.

However, it is crucial to test all outlets thoroughly and secure the proper ladders and safety gear before starting. Careful planning and adherence to safety guidelines are essential to protect yourself and your home while achieving an attractive display.

Start by clearing the area of loose debris, damaged shingles, and anything that could trip you up. Test outdoor outlets and, if you’re unsure, bring in an electrician. Use a sturdy extension ladder (or scaffolding for very high spots) and never work alone—having a helper steady the ladder is non-negotiable. Taking these simple steps keeps you, your roof, and your new lights safe.
