"It went just as he said it would. They started on a Tuesday with a subcontractor doing the tear-off, then his crew got the new roof on in just a few days. He had another subcontractor install gutters the next week, and it took a couple more weeks of short-term work. Jim inspected the gutters and called the sub crew back in to finish things to Jim's satisfaction, then the County inspector found a couple more things. All in all it took a month, but the actual work took about a week. We got 4 bids, all from top-rated Angie's List contractors, and Jim's was the lowest by a few hundred dollars. We have no regrets with that decision. The bonus was that someone earlier on his schedule cancelled, so rather than having the work done in October or November, he did it in August. We are very happy with the whole process."

"This is the second time we’ve used Joe and his team for a remodeling project. The first was a full kitchen relocation/remodel, restroom addition and restructuring the great room layout. This project was our master bath remodel, and his team member Daniel took the lead on the project. Per usual, Joe and Daniel didn’t disappoint! Attention to detail was phenomenal, professionalism was top notch, and the job was completed with permits to code. They gutted the entire bathroom, moved plumbing, moved ceiling heights, replaced a window, adding lighting, installed new vanities and fixtures and completed a full bathroom re-tile. It’s rare to find a great contractor, and one you would invite into your home for more projects time in and time again. Just be mindful that some projects may not be completed on time, but this is due to attention to detail, and Joe always making sure that every part of the job is completed to the highest standard. "We had cedar siding, which I loved, but it was being attacked by acorn woodpeckers and needed to be replaced. We had a really large project and I was very pleased with the whole process. We worked with Mike. The crew was managed by Vlad. They were all professional, prompt, hard-working and concerned that the job was done correctly. And they were very pleasant to have around. They worked on our job for about two weeks. They also arranged to have our gutters and downspouts replaced and painted under the eaves and the doors etc. We are very pleased results and their attention to detail. The house looks brand new. I am pleased each time I walk in and we are very happy we decided to go ahead with the project. They are also working on a separate scope to replace some doors. That task is still in process. We still have a couple of items on our punch list, but I have every confidence that they will be dealt with when they come to install the doors. In addition we are going to replace our deck and Mike helped us connect with someone to do that. We are very happy with the whole organization and would use them again and would recommend them to anyone looking for quality work."

"I like their thoroughness.  They were very good about inspecting and in fact when we had a little rain scheduled they came over before they were due to start just to make sure they took care of the worst of the leaks so that there were no further interior damage.  They were very thorough and gave very clear explanations of options.  I asked them to make me an estimate for patching the existing roof and completely ripping it off and installing a new one; they did that.  When I elected lower cost option they didn't pout about it, they got started right away.  They have excellent employees.  They were courteous and quiet sometimes I didn't know they were working up there until I walked outside and saw them.  They cleaned as they went.  They didn't block people's driveways in the neighborhood.  They were very attentive in explaining what was going in and where they were.  They pretty much finished the whole job in about four days.  They were prompt in finishing and in general it was another good experience.  I've recommended them to several friends and neighbors."

"I am not usually one to write reviews but this experience deserves mentioning. If you ahven't noticed, contractors are really busy in the Sacramento area. getting called back or a quote seemed nearly impossible and when my long term tenants moved out of my beloved home I had raised my two daughters in, I knew a facelift was in order. As I began to encounter one delay after another in getting responses and bids as well as starting projects in general, I have to admit, I did what many people probably do. I went on Craigslist and found someone who was available. It began with ripping out flooring, replacing flooring, all of the items on my Pest Report, and there were several. A few months and quite a bit of money later, I stopped in to look at the work. I was shocked to see that the guy doing the tile had about reached the ceiling and there was no where for the remaining pieces to fit. The floor around the toilet was even, the replacement window for the garage didnt fit and the paint job looked like I did it. (Not a good thing.) At least I was smart enough to stop. Back to Angies List and voila. Its done. GTL wasn't able to come out tomorrow but they actually showed up and then got back to me with a problem. One of their guys drove a screw driver through my crown moulding when he spotted what I thought was harmless moisture beads and water poured out from a recent rain. if they hadnt found it, I wouldnt have even known to file an insurance claim. My realtor just walked through the house a few weeks ago and she exclaimed, "Wow, who did your work? This is going to sell quickly." Yes I wasted some money by not chosing a reputable company initially but if not for GTL, I have a feeling instead of getting Top Dollar I would likely be forced to sell to for whatever I could get. Great guys who went above and beyond, even showed up to meet the cops on a false alarm! (thank you.) Looked so good that I almost want to move back in but its too big for me now. MP in Carmichael"
