"The blaine construction team wer ecourteous, prompt, and provide me with great service and recommendations. After my intialinitial consultation, James provided me with sound guidance and recommendations. I can say that the Blaine construction team aim at helping thier client make the best decision both in quality and pricing. Once the project was started, they arrived on time and work to completion in a timely manner. I happy with how my flooring turn out and glad I listen to thier recommendations. Afterwards blaine construction offer me some minor home repair which I jump at the chance since i was pleased with they're pricing and work ethics. Luke came out and complete all the repairs in record time and again I am pleased with the final results. I would highly recommend blaine construction to anyone looking for home projects or repairs."

"They were on time and professional. The job did not go without problems though. After installation we had a rainy day and had several leaks at the back porch cover. They did come back within 2 days and fixed the problem. Also had some shingles that were sticking up on the roof and they added more glue and that fixed the problem. As far as I can tell at this point, all leaks have been fixed in a timely manner. They were quick to respond to our problem. I would hire them again, but my husband was super upset and he does not share my sentiment. He did not expect any problems after job completion. I was much more calm and had no doubt they would come back and all would be well....which it was in the end."

"Tracy and his crew installed three new roofs for me. They are not the cheapest nor are the most expensive. He found an issue while estimating one of the roofs that none of the other estimators found. Mainly because of his knowledge and because he actually got up on the roof. Most of the estimators did a quick visual from the ground and used satellite images from a web app. I would definitely higher him again."

"I hate to provide a negative review for any company.  I feel obligated though since I use other reviews to determine if I?d use a company?s services, I want those individuals to provide honest and accurate reviews.  I feel obliged to do the same. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />I reached out to Horizon Roofing in late October.  I had an appointment set-up with a salesman to come out and take a look at my roof.  When he arrived it was determined that indeed my roof had extensive damage.  He was very nice and I really liked him.  Very nice, good ol? boy, casual conversation.  Answered my questions, great! <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />I reached out to my insurance company, new roof approved? no problem. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />I received the check from the insurance company along with details on the claim.  I was delayed in getting this information over to the salesman. When I did, he indicated that I would just need me to sign the contract and pick out a shingle color. Great!  <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />I had two appointments set-up with him to get things in order to schedule the install.  <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />One was on a Friday. I had the day off, told him to come by anytime.  I?d be there all day.  I did not hear from him at all.  I e-mailed him Monday to inquire what had happened.  He had a family emergency come up.  Not a problem, things happen. Scheduled another appointment.  When he was 20 minutes late for the second appointment, I called him.  He indicated <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />that he had septic issues at his home.  I can?t lie, at this point I was bothered. I think in sales, when you set up an appointment, you have to be vigilant of the time, at all times since you make appointments regularly. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />In an effort to get the ball rolling, I asked him to scan and E-mail me a copy of the contract on Tuesday.  I followed up Thursday since I had not received a contract.  He seemed annoyed that his office had not sent the contract. I received the contract Thursday afternoon.  At this point, I was reluctant to pursue doing business with Horizon Roofing. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />When I received the contract on Thursday, the date on the contract, was that same day.  That told me that was the first time it was sent to me, not Tuesday like I was told.  <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />I thoroughly review the contract.  I was expected to sign a contract that referenced stipulations on the back of the contract, but only received one page.  The contract indicated I had damage to my driveway, I did not.  The shingle color that I was to choose? I was sent a slew of literature without knowing what type of shingle I was to refer to in order to choose the color. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />My last effort was calling Horizon Roofing to speak with the sales manager.  The receptionist answered the phone on speaker.  I was not inclined to tell her what was going on because I didn?t want to express my dissatisfaction on speaker if there was someone else within ear shot. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />I called the sales manager to see if there was possibly another salesman could handle my roofing project and claim.  I thought maybe the salesman I was assigned had too much going on to adequately handle my project.  I received no call back. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />I have since reached out to another roofing company and received SUPERIOR customer service.  My roof install is scheduled for mid-December and I am looking forward to it. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />"

"Our "only" negative comment about Ground Zero Shelters is that they do not come to a persons residence to give the sales pitch and demonstration. You must go to their showroom or see their product at a home show. This being said, we were extremely happy with the sales experience, reminders and installation of our shelter. They called about 10 days prior to the installation for a reminder, their installers called the day before and the morning of the installation to remind us that they would be at our home at the designated time. They showed up as promised and were completed with the installation in less than 1 1/2 hours time! Thank you Ground Zero!"

"I found this company to be very professional and informative about our issue. Communication lines were always open. All of the work was to repair a mess that was made by another business. The group that they subcontracted with for the ceiling work did an exceptional job. They went over and above their job requirements to protect the areas in my house where the work had to be done."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Vidalia, GA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
