"Alex was excellent, easy going and a pleasure to chat with. Very professional with his work and was extremely efficient. He laid everything out, explained his process, and didn’t beat around the books when it came to costs or the job. Loved his company philosophy as well. He’s definitely earned my trust as an electrician. You will not be disappointed with his work."

"I'm giving C T Smith 5 stars because even though there were some minor issues during the installation, they owned them 100% and made sure that I'm completely satisfied. Also, the price was very reasonable (there were competing quotes.) I will hire them again if I have other electrical needs."

"They did a very good job installing an EV charger for my home. I wasn't really aware that it would be a 2 day job since they had to dig a trench for the wire and they set a post to mount the charger. They only real complaint I had was that the 2 days were not consecutive. Something about an inspection (not for my project). They were very professional and I liked that they would text a picture of the electrician who would be arriving."

Small jobs welcome

"Excellent, called ahead and arrived on time, reviewed requirements and explained necessary repairs, friendly and professional at all time, completed work in a timely manner, explained final repairs, and payment process. Generally cared about protecting our flooring as they were moving throughout the house and maintained COVID-19 masking requirements. Will hire them again and recommend them to friends and family"

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in White Marsh, MD

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
